Root [ROM](ChevyNo1) Simple Stunning 4.9

I still have not figured out what is wrong...has anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking that it may have to do with the Network status under the settings. It has Simply Stunning v4.9 in it instead of Verizon Wireless...does anyone know how to change this and think that this could be the problem? Is anyone else having this problem?
 
I do not know what the problem is, but I know that it is not because Chevy changed the text from verizon wireless to SS V4.9

BTW, it is know that android phones as a whole have had microsoft exchange issues.

I understand that maybe true...but I have not had any problems with the exchange email before installing SS v4.9. It is not a big deal...I just have to log into my email istead of it being pushed...probably not a bad thing anyways. Just wondering if anyone knew of a quick fix....Thanks for your input.
 
Question - I have issues installing custom ROMs on my orginal droid. I guess my phone is a tad tempermental. I wiped my phone and installed the SS4.9-update zip, everything was going well untill the SS boot screen stayed on for over 20mins. I am now installing the ROM over LFY 1.9 which as of now is the only ROM that likes my phone.

I tried going on chevy's website to look for an older ROM and flash over it but his site is currently down.

Any help on what I might be doing wrong?
 
I would say just stick with what your phone likes...if it likes LFY, then just use lfy...LFY is an excellent rom and I went from SS 4.9 to LFY 1.95...
 
Hey guys! I hope someone can help me. Everytime i reboot my phone all of my apps that are stored in my SD card wont load. I have to reboot 5-6 times in order to get them back. I dont know if the problem comes from SS ROM or LP. I read in some places that the latest update from LP is causing this. however, I went back and install an older version of LP and still have the same problem. heck, I even went back and install SS 4.8 (which was running perfectly) and no luck yet. This is really frustrating! I need some help....

part of me want to restore to stock. I am getting tired of this.... :(
 
When you reboot do not touch anything and give LP about 30 seconds or maybe longer...this happens for me but the apps are there, its just LP has to read the sd card to get them. So you have to wait till after the SD card is mounted and then give LP to read them. You will notice on the home screens that the shortcuts to apps on the sd card are just a folder, once they are recognized they turn back into the icon that was there.

I let my phone sit for almost 20mins after a reboot and for some reason LP is not reading my SD apps. I seriously don't know what to do its really annoying..my screen doesn't go to sleep anymore either. it goes to a really low dim. any ideas? :confused:

Erm, sounds like your phone is plugged into your computer and the sd card is mounted to the pc, which means the sd isn't available to the phone.

Either that or back up and wipe the phone 3 times then reinstall the rom. Use Chevy's backup scripts makes the restoration process faster than any other. With full accounts and apps restoration, it makes it ez pz.

That is done with either a theme that is made for the rom or u can experiment with themes not made for that rom. You may in turn disable some of Chevy's modifications because the theme may overwrite modded files. Also, the homescreen changes are done with a launcher application, Launcherpro and ADW. I believe there may be some others floating around. My favorite is Launcherpro, but ADW has a large collection of themes.

im having the same issue

ALSO, the only other issue i have is the power control...in UD you could select which one to display. im not messing with roms anymore because this is pretty much perfect...please help us

Update: I had to go back to an OLD back up (august) to fix the issue. sad because I really liked SS 4.9 :[
 
Was running chevy01 1ghz mvt kernel with stock rom. Copied the file to sdcard used Tom manager to select it. It did its thing then the phone rebooted. Now I am getting the simply stunning animation over and over. Its been about 10 min and nothing else has happened. What to do next.

You didnt really say what you did Im guessing you flashed to this Rom? I sounds like the kernel in this rom isnt agreeing with your phone, so reboot into recovery and flash a dif kernel, I would probably just got with the one you were using
 
Sorry I did not get a chance to update and I was not as descriptive as I should have been. I went into recovery did a wipe and then tried again it works fine now. Not sure what the problem was but it seems to work good now. Been playing around with the new ROM and it seems pretty cool so far.
 
I just wanted to comment about this ROM. I have been running SS v4.9 for just about a month and I absolutely love it. Everything is working great. I just want to say thanks to the developer of SS v4.9 you have made my first experience with a custom ROM enjoyable. Thanks again!

It is a great rom, like Charity and BB6, it runs flawless on my phone and very smooth using an 800 kernel.
 
How do you use a different kernel on this rom with the built in Basic over-clocking min, max, and governor settings. Should this be turned off, or will any rom still be controlled with the governor? I was thinking of trying different roms to get wifi tethering to work.
