Root [ROM][CM9 KANG][Alpha] Updated 3.5.5---6/27/12

will look into it

CM9 is still under heavy development..

i have had my phone activated on and off sevral times sense begining to work on CM9 and have never had signal issue with 3g or wifi.

keep in mind boost/sprint will be doing alot of changes to their network in the comint months

could explain the issues with alot of ppls 3g

Yes, this is true. I have the lg marquee and my girl has the galaxy prevail (which is why I need that camera working, she sends me "flicks" while I'm at work lol) anyway both of our phones on boost mobile lost service the other day no text, no in coming calls and had to be resolved via some foreign boost representative. I'm guessing it has something to do with sprint's plan to switch it's iden network to 4g lte and the tower in my area.

There is a new version of Reloaded ICS out. Can I install it normally through CWM, or did you have to change something to get it to work?

you can try to install the zip from xda normally. if it doesn't update try going to mounts and storage and mount system then try again. let us know how it works out. i'm sure we'll all be trying it by tonight anyway, though.

it probally wont work..manually push systemUI.apk and reloadee settings.apk to system/app

will update next release..also going to be changing launchers and updating alot of other apps

also...things should begin to progress quicker now with mavrik helping pull some of the weight off of me and inigo

he has a buddy who is a good kernel guy and gonna try and get him in as well to make us a new ics kernel

if you mount system before you flash it'll work fine. i just downloaded it and checked the script.

Alright, I'll try it later. Thanks for all the hard work guys! CM9 is an amazing rom.

EDIT: Yep, that worked! Oddly enough, it seems to have also fixed my 3G problem.

Well, after using this ROM for awhile, I have but two main gripes with it. My battery drains really fast compared to CTmod, and my 3G almost never works. Besides those two issues, however, I love this ROM, haha.

it's not a ROM for daily driving yet. This thread is intended for developers and testers so all the issues can be worked on by those of us who are willing. I wouldn't recommend using it for daily use cuz there are a lot more issues than what you reported so far. But if you would like to help with some development our testing, the more the merrier :-)

Yes this rom is very bad for daily use i suggest nobody get it inless you want to test it to help the devs but for now just wait for it become more stable and better. I downloaded it wanting to try out the new cm9 features and music player and was pretty dissapointed, the music player crashed from time to time and was very slow, the rom used up alot of ram and battery and when u try to play videos they play but look like color garbage, also when u try to use the cam it crashes the phone.

The camera seems to be an issue on most of the ics based roms out there... Ive got an HTC Inspire and im running ICS on it and the camera doesnt work on it either. The 3g seems to work fine if you shut wifi off and reboot your phone and leave the wifi off. Ive been using this rom as a daily driver since it was first released and it has came a long way since then. Im not real helpfull YET ! with fixing the issues but I am trying to learn and at some point I will be able to help but for now Im just a tester ! Thanks to all of you for getting CM9 this far !

Same here. Don't know how to develop and stuff like that, but I really really want to learn:)

I'm pretty sure you're aware, but flash player isn't working on this ROM. Along with other bugs, like being able to pull down notification drawer on lock screen. I'm not trying to pile on to the list, but I feel it's the least I can do since this ROM isn't for daily use. Keep up the good work! I love this!

being able to pull down notification slider on lock screen is a part of CM9..no bug..but i agree i dont care for it my self.. but its a part of all CM roms

This rom is still in alpha and this thread is for development testing. It wasn't created for daily use. Not sure why folks don't realize this reading the initial thread. ;) If your looking for a stable CM release try the CM7 rom. It works great and can be used for daily use. You can also try ctmod and honeycomb. If you want to remain with CM9 that's great, since we could use more testers. You can be like me and switch between many roms from time to time. Just don't expect fast bug fixes or frequent updates. There is going to be lots of glitches. Patience.. :D

Yes, I KNOW it's not for daily use, and yes I did read. You need testers? I'm testing. And so you can't say I'm not reporting anything, sometimes when I unlock the phone the brightness is all the way up even though the slider is all the way down

Good one! I regret to inform you that this is actually CTMod 3.5 with an ICS theme

I'm seeing alot of screen related issues.. that is why i mentioned to johnny that we may need a new kernel for this. I'm working on that right now. this is gonna take some time cuz it's dangerous to mess with boot.imgs and ICS is really hard to dev for but i'm on it along with some experienced cm/kernel devs

Why don't use the first kernal instead of the kato then?
