Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

Question to blood: Is there a way you can change the default lockscreen to the Jellybean Hololocker?

I don't mean just installing the .apk, I mean going into the ROM build and changing the lockscreen altogether?

Thanks and great work man (and testers and other guys)

Keep it up :D

You can also purchase Widget Locker from the market. It gives you all kinds of lockscreens to choose from with a lot of settings options.

Yup yup, but I wish it were permanent. Only way to make it "permanent" is to add the .apk to the ROM. I'm sure that wouldn't be part of OPs vision (same goes for the hololocker).

its probably possible but I don't have the time to start backporting that. sorry bro.

I'm sure you've already seen this since you mentioned apps but heres a simple looking holo lockscreen: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobint.locker&hl=en

you can probably throw that in /system/app if you want.

i have the CT Mod in my Boost LG Marquee and just now received a series of text messages stating the CT mod is a phishing scam and that when i modified the software in my phone that i was immediately open to the public and there is software to track the mod. after conversing with the individual he/she stated and i quote the text message "Just remember the modification was a phishing scheme. your text, your calls, your contacts all open property to the net and your camera can be accessed at anytime for upload". My question, is there any truth or validity to this claim since the strange text is not solid evidence to this. Should I change roms?

did they actually say what rom you were using? or was it a text that could apply to any person with a android phone lol.

anyway, theres nothing in CT that collects info or anything else. whoever was texting you is the scammer. how would some random person get your phone number or even know what rom you had to warn you anyway? they're probably sending the text out to a bunch of random numbers hoping to get lucky.

Wow. People will try anything huh? Lol.

CTMOD is straight up. I've ran it on 2 phones, and been there from the start on both. No way is it a phishing scam. :thumbup:

It would be nice to know where the text came from too. ;)

Edit. It was stated that it was a modification that was the cause. I'm thinking it's something else you may have installed. CTMOD isn't a mod, it's a ROM.

I don't know Blood looks the part of a pretty paranoid guy. Tin Foil, Gas Mask and all. CTMOD was probably developed to keep people from getting our information right Blood?

lol, your right bro. when I first started CT one of the main features was having carrier iq removed.

I came back to CTMod ROM about a week or so ago, after a couple months with Megatron. The only thing I kinda missed was the extended toggles when you pull down the notification shade. But it was fairly easy to get used to it missing.

I think I am experiencing significantly better battery consumption with this ROM. I specifically didn't say anything about it right after I switched back, because I thought it might be some kind of fluke or something, but it's been over a week and I have consistently gotten several hours better use than before. Except for one day, when my email app went crazy with wakelocks, but I won't count that! ;-)

It is using the same kernel, because I made sure to flash blood's non over clocked kernel with the other ROM also. So I think pretty much everything is the same except the ROM so I am thinking that is what makes the difference in the battery life.

Just thought I'd check in and say "thanks" for a great, simple and efficient ROM.

Hey guys, I installed CT MOD 3.8 for Boost yesterday for my Ting Boost LG Marquee and then I did a PRL and profile update and it went into voice roaming only and data is pretty much disabled. I tried updating again and drove a few miles away, and I keep getting error code 67, I restated and battery pull which didn't help, if I take it off roaming and put it on Sprint only I get NO service. How can I fix this?? I'm a noob.

Hi Bloodawn

Long time, no BBS :)

I've been using CTMod successfully now for quite some time.

Over the last few weeks I've had some crushing lockup issues.

I was using the phone as GPS nav, connected to bluetooth Jabra drive, and a call came in. The whole thing came to a crushing halt. Phone crashed, hard. Went into a reboot loop with error messages that wouldn't clear. I had to to a hard reset into Clockwork Mod and restore to a healthy prior state to get the phone functioning again. Since then I've noticed lockups while navigating with Google Maps/nav-- the phone will quietly lock up without telling me, and I usually catch on when I see that there's 30 minutes left in my trip, then 20 minutes have passed, and I still have 30 minutes to go :) (I've usually missed 5 exits by that point.)

Additionally, I've noticed that the phone intermittently stops ringing, despite the fact that I've got a noisy bell ringer installed with ringer volume at 100%. Calls will come in, but they're silent. All ringer settings are correct-- just tested it now and verified ringer not ringing. I just powered off phone, waited 30 seconds, turned it back on, and now the ringer works again. The ringer will go silent again at some random time in the future again, but it's unpredictable.

Any ideas what's happening here? The only additional info I can provide is that when the phone crashed hard, I was traveling in a rental car, driving in hot heat with the phone stuck in a window mounting unit, so the phone got hot and the battery drained much more quickly than it usually does. I never got a temperature alert, but I did periodically take the phone down to try and keep the battery cool.

Thanks Bloodawn (et al)

some data probably got corrupted. you'll probably have to do a factory wipe or reflash the rom to fix it.

Well after I rooted and flashed to CT MOD my phone show's I have zero battery life after a minute of being on and turns itself off even though my phone shows a full charge when first turn the phone on. I tried an app to erase battery stats a few times which did nothing. So I put it back to stock with root but my phone still turns off after 1 to 10 minutes for the past 3 days. Then I followed these instruction from XDA website (below) with no effect :(

Help.

"Calibrate Anytime
[Reminder: To save space on the post I am moving to spoiler type Q/A. Just click the SHOW CONTENT button right below to see the steps in battery calibration]

-> Charge phone to 100%
-> Restart phone [to be sure it isn't off by some amount (if phone off just unplug AC adapter for 30 secs and plug back in)]
-> Wait 20 min after you are sure it is 100% (phone should stay plugged in)
-> Boot in to recovery
-> wipe battery stats (advanced)
-> Get ready to pull battery and unplug phone and do so after the screen goes black after tapping restart device (pull AC adaptor first)
-> Wait 30 seconds and replace battery
-> Allow phone to boot
-> run through ENTIRE CHARGE (COMPLETELY DISCHARGE) the battery (whether normal usage or looped media files whatever you have time for)
-> restart phone to be sure it is totally dead
-> Charge fully one more time

You should be good to go!

Just remember it may take several days for phone to generate statistics and for this to fully settle in."

I go through something similar to this at least once a month. I'll also add that out of all the batteries I've had for all my phones, I have never had one go bad on me. Of course they don't hold a charge as long as they did when they were new but that is to be expected.

I'm glad you got it figured out too because I was going to let you know that it had nothing to do with CTMod. :thumbup::D

@wetbiker7

Well the thing is I didn't have this issue before I rooted with framaroot and flashed to CT MOD, so I'm clueless as to what's the cause. And I bought the batter 4 months ago. I put the same battery into my wife's LG marquee (completley stock) and it performs OK.
