Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

don't use rom manager. this phone is not supported

there is a reason the rom installation instructions say to boot into CWM. that is what you use to flash the rom, not the stock android recovery

go to the odin thread and use EJ06 Gingerbread Rooted with CWM5 then you can flash the rom
 
Hey Blood Dawn if you guys want me to make Tuts for our Prevails just let me know. I'm a quick learner and I can pump out the Tut fairly quick after getting the software. Maybe do a little in depth tutorial on 2.4
 
Im not doubting that the CTMod removes Carrier IQ. But Im running CTMod and all the apps I run for checking this say that IQ is still on my device. Is there some way I may have put it back on by accident. Or am I just getting false positives. Also is there a way to check for IQ using Terminal Emulator. Aside from that CTMod had made my phone crazy fast. Almost never on my laptop anymore!

those apps give false positives on ROMs that have had CIQ removed

you can update your profile and prl

firmware and samsung software will just say that there is no update or your already up to date
 
Hi all I'm new to posting on the forum (not new to the rooting of prevail lol) I just want to say thanks so much to Bloodawn for this mod . I started with Shabbymod, progressed to Hroarks cm7 , and now am here and I must say I am loving the overall flow of my phone now ! I did notice lags with my netflix but after much digging and exhaustive downloading finally found one that doesn't lag . Now my phone is the little engine that could ! Expect a donation from me soon and keep up the awesome work !

Which version of Netflix does not lag and how do I get it?

After a restart of the phone the options to select the keyboard become un-selected. Is this by design? I figured this was an easy alternative to keeping both keyboards...

The only problem I have with it is a small green line across very top of screen, small sacrifice to me to avoid lag :-)

Hmmm...I downloaded and installed this and it lagged like crazy. I didn't have a green line across the top of the screen either. Which color version of 1.5.2 did you install?

do you have it selected in the input method when you long press a text field?
 
My phone does the same thing as ITJ's does. After I restart my phone my swype beta is deselected and i have to go back into swype beta installer and re -enable it and then long press the text input box and select it again
 
@ antiluddite, Don't use the color ones. Go to post 8 by loser and us the older version ,it wont ask you to update to newest version. I am also using the new flash 10.3 apk

Probably a dumb question but, you are selecting the ops file in ops box BEFORE trying to select the other options correct?
 
Cool. Glad it was something simple. One other thing to look out for:

After you have downloaded more than one copy of Odin for the various Things you need to flash and you have used at least one of them, pay close attention the next time you do a different one.

On my Windows 7 laptop I noticed that the system seems to remember the path to the LAST time I used Odin so you could end up flashing the wrong files of you don't pay attention. I don't know of this has happened to anybody else. I have so many copies of Odin with tar files that I have kept, especially before Hroark made CWM available.
 
2.4 is finished now. I'll post it either late tonight or tomorrow when my probation is up

I redid the whole theme cause alot of what i did before was kinda ghetto from being doing it in a hurry. Probably around 400 images i made from scratch in this version, so it will look even a little different from the last screen shots i posted

There is more stuff i did too but i don't want to give it all away before the release =p
 
Man! As much as I love CM7, I will probably have to flash this and give it a quick try for a day or two. Just got downsized yesterday after 10 years of work so got plenty of time now. Gonna go back to school I think with some of that rare govment cheese money.
