Root [ROM/CWM/Kernel] CM7.2-RC1-requisite0 [BETA2]

Not to be negative or anything guys because i want this rom fully working too but ive been googling and i couldnt find anything positive about changing gsm to cdma

Dont get upset with me just sayings

Data and camera are the only things I'm aware of being broke. Yeah, the fc loop still exists.

Next time I can catch hroark13 on IRC, I'll ask him how he fixed it for the Prevail.
 
I can't get this to boot. I've installed CWM_Kernel-requisite0.zip rebooted recovery and have tried installed CM7.2RC1-ALPHA4-requisite0.zip with and without Gapps. I've tried wiping everything, reformat and wipe. I just can't get this past the boot animation. Is there something stupid I'm missing?

Requisite0 is no longer a customer of MetroPCS at least not in terms of service. Thus he is not yet sure if the Data issue is fixed.

However, it is my guess that Alpha-4 allows people to browse the web over Wi-Fi and send/receive calls/texts. You just won't have access to MMS or Web Browsing over Data. The camera does not yet work either.
 
Yeah, **** paying for service. Google Voice + Groove IP ftw. Admittedly if I had service, testing and fixing data would be much quicker. Right now it's all educated guesses and waiting for feedback.

Give it a minute or two with the boot animation. First boot takes awhile while it rebuilds the dalvik cache. If you still can't get it booting, get adb set up on your PC, connect the USB cable, and run the following command:

Code: 
adb logcat

And PM/post the output, so I can see what's going on.

My little brother just bought an admire and he has service, so I'm going to be using his phone to debug the data problems tomorrow. Hopefully I can figure out the root cause of our problems.

At least your able to accept donations. lol. I cant get a checking account to get a paypal account. Shit sucks ass. But im personally saying thank you. i wouldnt have been able to get half of what you got done. Im happy to see somebody is putting some effort into this phone besides me. lol. Thanks man

Get a Green Dot (reloadable Visa) card, and use the direct deposit information in the 'add a checking account' deal on PayPal. Worked for me.

my bad for the stupid service question. lol. I shouldve put two and two together. if my admire wasnt my only phone i would be testing the shit out of this. Just cant go without my data
 
Great to see this coming along for you Admirers! :D Main reason why I am staying in these forums is because I have a friend that has an Admire and I want her to have the best running system for her phone... ya know... get all that bang for your buck.. because we can't afford the nicer smartphones out there.. and sometimes I think these companies just push what they want out there to make a quick buck, not realizing that these devices certainly have way more potential than what they release them to be.. :)
 
Hey flashed alpha 4, has no gapps. Tried flashing gapps from from link here, starts to flash then stops and says install complete but is not installed. Help please. Thanks.
 
I've Already Flashed Alpha 1 and 2. I Wanted To Try To Flash Alpha 4 But As Soon As I Boot Into CWM 5.0.2.8 I Get The Following Errors:

E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log

After That I Tried To Reboot Back Into Clockwork And It Took Me To A Screen That Said Ram Dump Mode. I Then Took The Battery Off And Tried To Return To Stock Using ODIN And It Failed. The Only Thing That Worked After Trying Multiple Times Was Flashing The Old CWM And Restoring My Backup.

My guess is that system is never being mounted during the install.
What's used in the official gapps install script:

What's used in requisite0`s CM install script:

mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/stl12", "/system");
You can edit yourself or use the zip i edited for myself

gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip

P.S. You'll want to flash this before first boot of the new rom.

That's happened to me a few times. Cache partition just gets messed up somehow. That is about what i did to fix it though. You don't have to let it scare you away from testing this great rom, once it's fixed you should be good to go on trying to install cm again.
