Root [ROM] CyanogenMod 9 for the LG Spectrum 4G LGVS920

Using Nova launcher, paid version. And the gallery app is called Album, but it isn't available in the play store.
Nova prime is my favorite on ics/jb roms. Better and over ram footprint than holo and smoooooth. Worth It, because I like to hide apps in my drawer.

Beautiful rom, great job on the port guys! I love it with the exception of 1. my camera doesn't work (says 'cannot connect to camera') and it also doesn't detect verizon wireless network for me, no service no calls no texts, had to restore backup, does this need fix or did I not do something properly? [also I cannot download apps from google play (error 921) on wi-fi]

[edit] -- I reinstalled with quattrimus this time and everything works, thanks again tdm :)

Camera works fine here. I have been using this for my daily since I got 1x service going on vm, since I almost always have wifi anyway.

If I were still a student and home all the time, it would be mine, as well. It's really smooth and runs wonderfully with wifi.

I run a Tasker profile every night that turns on airplane mode then switches it off in the morning. When it switches in the morning, my lock screen says "no sim card" but I can still make/receive calls & SMS. It disappears if I reboot. Just wanted to let the DEVS know (=

A heads up on the ROM BTW, wondering if any of you devs had some insight on it... Not sure if any of you work with Activesync, but with your CM9 ROM, everything works works awesome with synchronization with Activesync. I can't use the latest AS with the current V6 GB or the ICS leak, it just fails, but on CM9 it works. Also syncs everything properly. When I had checked logs on the server, it seemed like it was an issue with what device the phone reported back to the AS server.

What GB and ICS leak report:
devId='LGMC9900006xxxxxxxx' devType='LGPhone'

What CM9 reports:
devId='androidxxxxxxxx' devType='Android'

So I guess to the point, my question is, where is the devId and devType set in the OS? Is there a way to change this? And maybe even this would help with issues if Verizon is checking on their network the devid and type?? I have no idea if this even makes sense, and basically shooting blanks, but just providing misc info and maybe prodding out of curiosity.

Hey man, might want to edit your post. Its displaying something you may not want it to display.

Agreed.

ID = exactly what it implies.

So how does this -> "LGMC9900006" get changed to "android?"

Good looking on the ID, didn't even realize it was my IMEI... Guess it helps to put 2+2 together, I just happened to get 5.

ActiveSync referring to the wireless syncing protocol. No Exchange server involved, just a mail server with Z-Push. So back on that, how is the first section of the ID handled and the DevType? Would help for at least getting AS14 working on GB.

I don't know for certain, but a logical guess is stock uses your IMEI, whereas cm uses an arbitrary number to recognize you. Cm doesn't need the IMEI, but I believe pieces of the stock rom do.

super smooth! cant wait for mms and data! cant use as a daily driver yet, but love how this works on the spec. Thanks to the devs who worked on it!

PG, I was looking through your latest ril commits and I think your on the right path. I wish I could help more but even understanding the changes is pushing my knowledge of android programming.

Thanks for your hard work.

Maybe. It's a rom designed for this phone and has the boot image for this phone. Flashing it on another device could brick you if you don't have a stock recovery as a safety net.

Since no one else has done this I thought that this may make it more known that we now have 3g and 4g data working on cm9 thanks to the efforts of neph81, tdm, and death2all110.

death2all110 says:

Yess!!! Does 3G work too!? It does!!

CM9 VS920 3G Data! - Imgur

Just to clarify, it's not completely stable data yet. It will start up the first time with 3g/4g but has issues reconnecting after that. d2a, tdm, and neph are working on a fix for that still.
