Root [ROM] DoVeRTeD ROM V2 MS910 ZVD

I'm not having luck with the tweaks.
Fine tuning stuff but getting fc's . Just looking foe that sweet spot
 
Seems snappy so far, I like. How do you turn off the music on boot? It's not bad or anything, just like a quiet boot.

Op 2

Open root browser
Navigate to system/sounds/power/ folder.

Rename file metro_PCspoweron.mp3 ( or something like that) to metro_pcspoweron.BAK

Option 3

Go to same place. Take mp3 of your choice... and place in that folder. Rename original power on file to metropcs_poweron.BAK .. take your new file and rename it to the original file name..mp3. File name case sensitive by the way. Sorry... don't remember exact file name of the top of my head.

Nice job you have done here DOVeR. Although I'm using as my daily phone my LG Spirit, I still have my Esteem and I'm using it as a backup and for entertainment (Netflix for the kids, games, etc.) I'm always checking out the Esteem forum cuz I love the community and the support the Esteem has. I installed this ROM and its really nice. It gives the phone a new look and feel since I've been running BrokenOut Esteem with ICS theme for ages, lol. Great job. Its nice to still see how much love the Esteem is still getting.

I've been having issues with playstore today. Tells me I have two apps to upgrade but can't do it - error when downloading. Got the same error when I tried downloading a new app.

I've cleared data and cache on playstore, and just now went to yesterdays nandroid when everything was working fine. Playstore isn't working there either.

Any obvious things come to mind? Note I'm not blaming the rom, I play with lots of shit and break things, just surprised the nandroid restore didn't fix the issue.

That's weird I'm not having that issue here but being that you did your nandroid backup and it still having the issue.... sounds like something else have you tried resetting your permissions in clock work mod?

I use twrp but yeah I tried fixing permissions, no joy. I did a dirty flash and things worked for a bit but stopped again. At one point before the dirty flash I got taken to the set up wireless screen and it said my network was out of range as I was sitting 10 ft away from my n router.

This is really weird. After supper I'll do a factory reset and a clean install and see what happens.
 
Before u do all that..... make sure your SD card is not full or close to it. Maybe when you downloaded doverted, and backed up... it put u over the top without u noticing.

Also did u try downloading from play trying both network and wifi?
 
Good ideas but I checked and the space is fine and I had tried both the network and wifi.

Thanks for the ideas, will see what happens after a clean install.
 
So far so good Dover. I just got home from school so I haven't even used it really until now lol

My only gripe so far - as small as it is, you're missing the power menu mod. :)

Aside from that, I've just got my titanium backup redownloaded from the play store.. I'm going to restore my contacts and such. Leave it as is and give it about a week and check back in with an update - unless I got some more constructive criticism for ya :)

Oh... PS: props for the phandroid app already being installed.

Terrible. Two complete wipes and installs - works for awhile, then stops. Won't see networks at home or work.

Did another complete wipe and installed 2.8.1 - worked for about half a day then stopped. 4g seems to be working well now, can download and update apps at least.

I've just now formatted both the internal and external sd cards then I'm going to do another complete wipe and clean install of doverted.

Is it possible there is something physical affecting the wireless on the phone? Never had this kind of extended problem.

Not sure, but I know #2 has it. As well as the ld-lg... it's a menu that includes a reboot option, reboot to recovery, screen shot.. etc... it's really all your ROM is missing.

I can't rave about doverted more, I love what my phone is doing these days... you've breathed new life into my phone dude, I actually want to keep my phone even longer now. Thanks Dover

No. Both laptops and Nexus 7 are having no problems connecting at home.

I'm a computer programmer. Our cleaners aren't the best but the place is pretty clean :)
(And the wife would beat me if I didn't say the house is very clean too....)


Just finished a fresh and clean install of doverted. Wifi is working at home, for now. Will see how things go and report back if any changes.

I'm confused... don't you have all these same options by pressing and holding the power button?
