Root [ROM] DroidSmith_Force - Beta

I've been having issues with my updater script as far as installing to the data partition. I'm not opposed to including keyboards and other apps, but I want to place them in the data partition. That way users who don't want those features can easily uninstall

There's different apps for converting apps. I use ROM toolbox pro. But before you convert Google keyboard to a system app, you have to copy its library (only one) from I believe it's /data/data/ com.google.android.inputmethod.latin/lib to /system/lib and match the library's permissions, then you can convert it to a system app. It doesn't really make a difference, I just want one in the system to make sure it doesn't get deleted.

Now that the main android email and exchange email has been removed from this rom is there a way i can put it back on my ZTE Force? I use the exchange server for my emails, contacts, calendar and tasks.

If all else fails you could open up the play store and type in exchange client. I recommend touchdown for smartphone or k-9 mail.

You could use apkmanager to install it from your stock nandroid

Nandroid manager works pretty well for that also :cool:

I've got the CPU control and dpi changer integrated. I'm going to add some governors and schedulers to the kernel and I should have an update for you guys tomorrow

I got sidelined guys. Though I could get this thing oc to top it off tonight, but it didn't work out. No problem though I will have it in a future release. What we do have is google now installed by default. All traces of face unlock have been removed, and smartassv2 and badass have been added to the kernel. I'm going to run it tomorrow, and if all is well I will post an update. Dpi settings and CPU control have also been integrated.

Any themers out there want to lend a hand? I want to change the status bar icons and text to white. I'm sure I can figure out how to do it, but making things pretty takes my focus off the system

I couldn't get the voicemail to work. I assume it's cause by an app that was removed from the system maybe, even tho the VM app is there. I even tried restoring a previous TB backup still wouldn't work.

On jb I think it may work. Not sure yet, all I know is when I listened to my voicemail I got texts from my voicemail.

If you got texts from your voicemail then it was visual voicemail. There was no problem with the stock voicemail app. I was notified all the time.
