Root [ROM] GB-CMod7-Beta

Earlier in the thread reppard said joneidy's recovery does not handle the ext partition very well, it will create but it wont clear it or anything, what is happening is the data that is on that partition is interfering with the new rom install.

Now the best way to take care of it is to update your recovery, but short of that repartition your sd card, remake the ext and the fat32, that will clear that and then you will be able to use it. Until next time, that is why its better to get the new recovery.

The new recovery also allows you to backup your ext which comes in real handy. I don't even use titanium or anything cause all my apps stay on my ext partition. I've even flashed to other roms without wiping my ext and most of my apps stayed intact!

So the way I fixed the setup loop was getting on the stock ROM. I was on Sense, then tried going to this one just because this actually supports PS3 controller through bluetooth. From Sense to CMod, it would always setup loop. From stock ROM to CMod it worked great.

Though, now I can't overclock. I know it's been discussed in the thread, but what is the current state on overclocking with this ROM? I have a 2.2.1 stock Optimus M. In Sense I had the phone at 728Mhz and that ran the PS1 emulator soooo much nicer than CMod's 600Mhz does right now.

Just flash my OC kernel. Its stickied in this forum. Joneidy just added it to the sense rom. I would add it to this rom but I have only tethering to work with. It will be much faster if you download the 3 MB kernel update as opposed to me uploading an 90 MB rom update at 12 KB/s :)

i have a silly question but had anyone else here experienced a low volume issue with this rom? all my volumes are super low even turned allt he way up some are barely audible. also when rebooted this phone with an etx3 partition.. my widgets have a hard time loading back up.. usually error out and i ahve to remove and redo all of them. kinda a pain in the ass.. i switched back to the updated sense rom until maybe we can get these issues sorted out.. any help is appreciated and if ya need anything im more than happy to help out as well.. looking forward to blarf and joneidys unofficial port see if these issues are solved.. may look into building one of my own if that doesnt happen..

I'll go back and find that. Thanks so much man. This ROM is amazing. It saved me from having to buy a $50 controller imported from Hong Kong by letting me sync my PS3 controller. I am truly grateful.

could you kindly point me to the stock rom? i cant seem to find it. please if you dont mind :]
never mind i got it working by switching to chickeneater then to this i guess sence rom doesnt play nice with this rom, thanks for your help everyone!

So I switched from sence to chickeneater then from chickeneater to this and it worked!
Im starting to see a pattern, all the roms you tried before, sense, and cm7 have built in app2sd support, the chicken eater and the stock do not.

You change from a rom with built in support to another with built in support and it interfers, but go to the rom without then back to one with and it works.

Thank you for your work. I just checked it out today; I have two issues and one is a deal breaker for me. The airplane mode is not easily accessible, which I can deal with. But the deal breaker is that swype is not available. Can you add these things in? If you put swype in, I'd use this mod. Either way, thank you.

You can add swype yourself, in fact if you want you can use the new beta, it is way better then swype that comes with the phone.:D

You can add airplane mode as part of the power control widgit or you can add to the status bar menu via the settings. Might be in the cm7 settings but u can't remember. Its there though!
