Root [ROM] GB-CMod7-Beta

This rom is kick ass, some of the bugs people have mentioned were solved for me by simply rebooting (gps showing in nc when im in ga, the laggy transition between portrait and landscape etc.) but of course my luck the only issue is a big one and thats the bt not working, got music through bt but no phone calls, but other than that you cant go wrong with this one, good job reppard

O and did I mention the battery life is super freakish. Live wallpaper running, dl apps all day,pandora, phone calls and my phone has lost 5% since 11am (its 4pm now)

Thank you fellow Georgian! I'll work on the bt when I can it should be an easy fix.
 
just want to say good job reppard for this rom it is nice.. just one thing i dont care about the other bugs it is in the beta stage and i know that but one thing i know that hasnt been mentioned is that when you have headphones with a microphone it dosnt work you can here the person speaking but they cant here me.

Again should be another easy fix but I don't have the peripherals to test it with. Soon as I get them I will work on them.

take ya time bro. Im doing some research myself, I notice this rom comes with dsp manager, im wondering if toying with it can fix the issue hmmmm??

the headset with mic issue i already mentioned lol x) its a TRRS connection issue, the headphone port has the H/W to support TRRS, but im thinking its just mapped wrong or something. :D i've been trying to fix it myself with no luck ;-; more than likely reppard will be able too before i do tho xD

the DSP manager doesn't disable the TRRS connection it only watches for connected headsets to know what EQ settings to use. the modified lib only adds the layer of filters to allow it adjustments aka "equalizer settings" :)
 
Mine has been rebooting everytime I put it in usb mode, been having to toggle usb through recovery. Anyone else having this problem?
 
Okay so I am a NOOB to this whole android thing. I am learning how to do all of this. Well i rooted my optimus M with z4root and now i am trying to put this rom on my phone but I have no clue how. Can i get instructions on how to do this? there are a lot of files. Im confused.

if you used z4root then you most likely have a phone that came with android 2.2

i don't recall if this has been confirmed to be working on 2.2

this rom works with phones that came with 2.2.1

This rom is 2.3.3. You Will need to the rooted And have custom recovery installed. There are instructions on this forum to achieve both. Use the resource is at your disposal And come back and download this rom.

Okay, I have it rooted and I found a how to on the custom recovery and its not working. I am using the terminal emulator app and Its showing a $ and isnt it supposed to be a #

Can i get a link?

anyways i finally got the custom recovery.

But It keeps saying aborted when i try to install the rom.

is this because I have 2.2 and not 2.2.1

if your phone came with 2.2 then it can run all the new stuff, the problem is if your phone came with 2.2.1 it can not run 2.2
And I would bet the new phones that now have 2.2.2 can not run either 2.2 or 2.2.1.
And the same goes for ones that come with 2.3 cant run any variation of 2.2

Astro come on this rom. What's the benifits of using astro over root explorer? What can astro do that root explorer can't? I wanna give it a try but I can't find anything with it worth switching from root explorer especially because u can't gain root in astro(as far as I know...)

i just put that in the rom because i personally use it for debugging and testing when i am away from the computer. i can explore apk and zip files. i dont have root explorer because i dont want to pay for it and i also dont want to rip the developers off by 'googling' it. i use es file explorer if i need r/w or just mount via the terminal. feel free to uninstall it if you want.
 
Another thing I just noticed is the caller i.d. doesn't always work.
The name isn't coming up on numbers that aren't in my contacts as it used to.
 
Wanna start by saying thanks to everyone that worked on this rom i love it!! Everything works for me except one thing when i turn my screen off i cant turn it back on, i have to take the battery out to get it back on. Any help?

You need to hit menu go to cryogen settings display and turn off screen animation on lock screen.
 
Everytime i go to plug in my phone to the pc and hit mount as storage,it force reboots.it JUST started happening this morning..anyone know what it could be? ive had this ROM for weeks now and havent had this problem..
