Root [ROM][ICS] MIUI V4-2.9.14 alpha 4 (9/16/12)

I didn't experience it in any of the builds. Hey I got Emit working perfectly in Alpha 3. Don't know what magic you did but thanks so much for this killer rom.
 
awesome rom man high memory usage an my apps sometimes randomly stops . also anyone having tethering problems both usb an wifi .. any suggestions ... still cam issues ... love both these ics roms thank you guys so much
 
I mentioned to mention this in alpha 2 but when my phone is completely powered off and plug in the charger it powers on the phone instead of charging with the power off. I'm not sure if anyone was aware of it

Almost all of the cyanogen mod ports do this. My kindle fire, optimus v, and marquee all do this.

Some phones don't even need to be running one of those ROMs for this to happen. There was a guy in here that had broke his power button a while back and did this to power on his phone. His phone was rooted stock. ;)

My phone doesn't do it now but has done it several times in the past before I had to send it in to the factory.
 
It looks awesome so far! something I noticed when theme-ing, you cant change the lockscreen theme unless you pick a theme with a lockscreen already in it. used to be able to do that. all the other issues are still there. Also, I've seen this too! everytime you stream a video with the gallery or Mi player or any player, it has different color lines going through the video. it also stops playing if it hasn't loaded yet. i'm sure you're aware of this but the memory usage is still high. but other than that this rom is so awesome!

I should have the lockscreen theme bug fixed the next release.

MIUI just uses a lot of ram. It will probably stay that way unless they release a update that changes it.
 
I can understand that. ALSO! I found a breakthrough in 3g. I haven't really tested it out but I know for a fact that if you leave 3g off for long periods of times it tends to turn back on. Not all the time but some of the time
 
The next release should run a lot smoother. I changed some stuff in the kernel for better ram management and hopefully fixed the freezing problem.
 
I've noticed that the themes don't work as good as the alpha 2is still a wonderful rom but I'm sticking with the alpha 2 for now, can't wait for the next one if is going to have a better ram manager, any advances with the camera? That's the only thing keeping me from having this as my main rom, having three little kids is important to have the camera lol, like I said before thanks for this wonderful rom......

What isn't working with the themes other than the lock screen?

The camera is the same so far.
 
Every time I try to change something the first few times it forecloses and after like the third time it works, do you think I'm doing something wrong?

could just be some bad cache/data for the Theme app making it do that. I just went through and applied a theme for each thing under MIX and only the Lockscreen would make it FC.

New kernel build
Patched MIUI to build 2.9.14. You can view the changes Here
Improved performance, everything should be much smoother now
Fixed Light sensor
Fixed Theme force-closes
Fixed Screen flicker when turning on the screen
Switched the default lockscreen to a lighter one to get rid of lag, the regular one is still available in Themes > MIX > Lockscreen if you want it
Probably some other things I forgot

Don't forget to disable GPS and reboot, or else it will be searching for a signal all the time since its still broke.
 
I'm loving this! I still have no 3g download :( not sure what to do about that. I'm downloading your latest build right now. Thanks for all your hard work!
 
I was able to download Root File Explorer and just go into System Apps and delete the APK if I wanted to remove a useless app or just uninstall it. With this rom I am unable to do that. So how do you remove apps that you don't want such as Email? Or hide them at least? Thanks Blood.

Root explorers work fine, I just used one to delete something earlier.

edit: make sure you have it allowed and root enabled in LBE Guard
 
Thanks a million Blood. I had the filesystem mounted as RO was the problem. You got me looking in the right direction though.
 
Blood, I have never used miui before. I decided to try yours (I always trust your work), and to be honest I am absolutely enamored with this rom. Great work man! Thank you for your hard work. The only issue I have run into are the known ones...:D

Does the new kernel help with the issue of 3G not initializing after wifi turns off?
