try editing the wpa_supplicant.conf in /data/misc/wifi at the bottom it should have these lines. this is what mine looks like except i left out the network name and password

Settings force closes when you try connect to a network. If the network is password protected when you try it will just force close. But if it's public it will connect but it will also force close settings and you will not be able to get in it ever again unless you factory reset. Even if you restore wifi from titanium backup. So I'm guessing any type of edits on that file will destroy settings.

Sms was fixed by B4tnam with my instructions here http://androidforums.com/5979308-post24.html. It's included in the latest download.

If you're talking about mms then that's another story I have an idea of why it's not working but I've been getting lazy with rom fixing lately..

So if there isn't a new build by tonight or tomorrow morning I'm giving anyone permission to break into my house and force me to work on the rom.
 
And if someone has the chance...help me with the damn port...lol....I keep trying the pa for spirit and my phone fc...can't even get this one to stop boot looping when I try to port...something with runtime I think. :-( I'm smashing my head in the wall
 
there is a file missing in /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant there should be a file there labeled wlan0 with root root ownership and rwxrwxrwx permissions. possible reason

p2p_supplicant.conf seems to be missing lines too.

yea it does break settings but it did make wifi work :)
edit:strangely you can still get into settings by pushing "menu button" then "manage apps" and it takes you to app settings and from there you have access to all settings. but if you push "menu" then "settings" it crashes. wierd.
so i got wifi and still have settings.

personally i don't see anything special about aokp so i'm gonna go with paranoid rom and just add bazooka launcher from playstore and have pac paranoid avatar cm
