Root [ROM(kinda)] SlimStock+

Added download link in op to a slimmer dd stock with google now preinstalled.

Lemme know what y'all think.

I tried the touch recovery and got the same results.. Ok, after the download finished, I rebooted into recovery.. Did a backup from CWM and while it was backing up, it said Couldn't back up /data but it backed up some things before that like system files.. Then I factory resetted. After that, I tried to update from zip and got that problem. I also backed up my apps with titanium backup before all that
 
Im not sure about shabby's recovery, but on the touch recovery, if you boot to recovery, try one or both of theses options:
under mounts
Format /data /datamedia(/sdcard)
Boot up phone
Reboot to recovery
Try to backup

Under mounts
Mount /data
Format /data
Boot up phone
Reboot recovery
Try to backup

Let me know what results are

Formatted /data, rebooted the phone, then set it up with Google.. Rebooted into recovery then tried to backup using CAN and everything went smoothly until it got to /data then said error.. Might just give up on the ROM and try to free up space and install Google Now manually

Don't think your trouble is with rom if you can't do a backup.
I'm here to help whatever you decide to do.

which google now did you add the cm7 version if so do we still have to apply the cm7 update or did you already I will try out your rom later and tell you if anything

Also chrisx720 try to delete .Android Secure from your internal memroy card and then try again and tell me if anything

Alright what can I delete out of system/app without bricking my phone.. I want to do the offline install of Google Now which needs 60 mb of free space

all metro apps if you haven't, Google chrome, and probably moffice_4.9.2.apk
thats all I know right now

why dont you get the online version if you always have service and its only like 15 mb

Anything metro
Yahoo answers

Titanium backup is great for this
If you have pro you can convert to user app

If you are running stock
Then you need to go into /system/partner-app there is apps in there even if you uninstall with tb
Just delete everything in there
I think it 30 something mb
 
Anyone tried the second dl in op yet?

Needing some feedback, its a lil hard to do qc with only one device to reference.

I used the one from xda mikey6
for the files and as reference for permissions

Yes, was kinda trying to make it a Google type thing . With the Google now and all . I'll upload the Metro browser apk if you need it
 
I am working on releasing some more stuff. I am just anal about system apps so it takes me a lil longer with certain things.

with that being said

Feel free to use anything I've posted as a base for your work and as always I will help in any way that I can.

Note: I'm not much for theming as what is "cool" to me - probably isn't to too many of you,
so don't expect too much of that from me unless on a collaboration.

I'm mainly working on rebuilding the stock launcher and adding extended restart menu, as these are system apps, my sphincter is working over-time.

Wow lol I should have asked you how you downloaded it and installed it i already thought you did that so i didnt mention it but glad you got it fixed
