Root [ROM] Liquid Gingerbread v. 1.7

Thank God for this. Some of the fixes (dropping Wifi and LauncherPro update in particular) address my issues with 1.6.

Updating now.
 
I am still on 1.6 and the only problem that I am having is Facbook FC issues. Especially when I click on "Friends" on the main screen. Does anyone know if this is still a problem with 1.7?

I am (at the moment) on LGB 1.65 and have constant FC's on Facebook. DL'ing 1.7 now, so I will let you know. But to my knowledge this is actually a Facebook issue... not a ROM issue.
 
The FC issue with Facebook isn't a ROM issue. It's a problem with the most recent FB update. I had the same force close problems while using Project Elite. If you go back to a previous version of FB it works fine - including on this current version of Liquid Gingerbread.
 
How do I turn on voice search in this ROM?

Also, where do I download the google apps as one package for this ROM?

EDIT: Didn't realize Voice Search was an app I had to download and I decided to just install the Google Apps I wanted.
 
Is there a way to change the background for the lockscreen? I've searched through the "Liquid Settings" and can't find anything. I'd like something a little more personal than what's there now.

P.S.: Awesome work Liquid team! Now my old Droid is running better than ever thanks to you guys!

Do you know where I can get the apk for said previous version?
 
You guys could always try an app called Flow for Facebook. It works well for me and I don't have any issues on 1.65 with it.
 
So far, this ROM has been great for me (initial hurdles aside...)!

I have had a few screen redraw issues and black home screens but I think that's just something I'm going to have to live with. They have been minimal.

I did have it drop 3g last night and not recover. I could tell because weather bug said could not update. I looked and I had a 3g logo but no activity when I tried to refresh. Airplane mode reset it. This is strange, first time I have had 3g drop out and not come back (that I know of).

The camera video is MUCH improved. All resolutions work for me, video zoom doesn't. When I tried it, it not only FC the camera app but apparently it never released the camera because when I tried again I got unable to access the camera. Had to reboot to get it to let go of the camera.

Battery life TBD, started with a full charge this morning and we'll see how it goes.

EDIT: Getting average Quadrant scores around 1350 with the stock kernel maxed, interactive gov. Same scores with SetCPU and Liquid's CPU control.

1.7 is definitely everything 1.65 had and more! The lag between receiving a phone call and the screen lighting up is fixed, which really annoyed me!

I did have one slight hiccup when restoring all my apps once the rom was installed. While downloading and installing my apps from the market, I had several failed installations due to insufficient memory. However a reboot fixed the issue and everything is back to normal.

INstalled yesterday so battery life is TBD.
 
This install took me a lot longer than usual. I had a lot of issues restoring apps and with force closes. After numerous re-installs and wipes, finally got it working. But works smooth now, definitely a fast ROM. No problem getting 3G connection after a call. Battery life has not improved for me.
 
Anybody having issues with playing music? Specifically, when playing music I sometimes get "skips" during playback, similar to older portable CD players that would "skip" if you bumped them. This issue showed up in the LGB 1.65 release, and i'm having the same problem in 1.7.
 
Installing now. Taking a very long time. Progress bar is stuck at 50%. Install has been sitting at "Setting Permissions..." in CW Recovery for about 10 mins now. Is this normal?
 
I've had this on my Droid from right about when it came out. I must say, I'm pretty impressed. For the most part, my Droid keeps it's speed, and usually doesn't get in my way. I do experience some lag and screen redraws, but to be honest, that has been on every ROM I've flashed since around Christmas. I'm really thinking my Droid is at the end of it's run, as it hasn't mattered if it's GB or Froyo.

The battery life is pretty damn good with this. It's been a long time since I could go all day without a charge. Keep in mind, that was with pretty mild use, but I'm def impressed.

What I'm really happy about is that after a few days (about a week now, actually), it's just as good as when I first flashed. It seems every ROM bogs down after the first 3 days, but that's not an issue here. I think it's the version number (lol). LFY1.7 was the best ROM I had ever run on my Droid, even keeping it on my phone for about a month and a half, maybe two). Do you know how hard that is for a flashaholic (well, back then I was)?

Long story short, it's a good ROM, a good working ROM, and I highly recommend it.

My thoughts exactly. (<--- see my info to the left <---)
I haven't seen a slowdown either.
I still get screen redraws but so do my friends who are running stock DrOIDs (rooted and unrooted).
I have had 1 instance where I noticed 3G dropped and didn't return.
Just today I had a random reboot after using the camera but that's the first one and there is a thread about that issue already, gonna try the stock camera apk from Pete's GB and see if that helps.
I also have not had the need to do my normal weekly cache clearing, permission fixing routine to regain stability/speed.

Yup, there's something about the .7 Liquid revisions...

Yep, same thing here. I kept looking at my phone thinking there was incoming texts or something, but there was nothing else happening.
 
Main Issues I'm seeing thus far:

-3G is not returning for me after almost every call. This has actually been the worst I've experienced w/ this issue on any GB ROM.
- Bluetooth Voice dialing is broken. No voice prompts from the OS.
- Market is acting up. Installs from the Market website aren't triggering on the phone.
- Music player is 'skipping' (as described above)
 
I have a HUGE issue (not sure if it is specific to this ROM or GB ROMs in general on the OG Droid, as it occurred, with less frequency and intensity on GPA15).

75% of the time, when I am getting an incoming call and my phone is on vibrate, the phone keeps vibrating after I accept the call (making it impossible to have a conversation, obviously), and then my phone process freezes and I cannot hang up the phone or do anything until I do a battery pull. It makes the phone almost unusable for its one true purpose and is stressing me the heck out.

I've been in the ROM game for some time, and I definitely do everything right when it comes to flashing ROMs. I ALWAYS wipe everything multiple times before switching ROMs (data, cache, system, boot), and I never restore any system data with TiBu. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what the deal is. I've even tried re-flashing this ROM, with wipes, of course, and the first call I got, it happened again.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

And is anyone else experiencing this? I pray every time a new ROM comes out that this will show up in the changelog. Alas, nothing so far.

I've had only one or two instances of 3G not returning after phone calls but not so annoying I can't deal with it. I did have some problems restoring apps from the market as well.

I've searched Droidforums for a solution to the music skipping but nobody seems to have a solution :(. That's really annoying because I use my phone as an mp3 player almost every day.

The last problem i'm experiencing is that the lag between receiving a phone call and screen lighting up to answer it is back. Not sure why this would have resurfaced after using the ROM for awhile?
 
I have had trouble with all the Gingerbread roms losing email connectivity. I've tried adjusting from push to timed updates and going in and out of airplane mode. The only thing that works is a reboot. I have to reboot daily. I haven't heard of anyone else having this issue. Is it just my D1?
