Root ROM Manager issues

I recently updated to the newest ROM manager (I think 2.5.1.8 or something like that) and I am having problems with it. It opens fine and everytime that I go to Download ROM it will just sit there and time out unless it is the first time on that boot and/or install. So if I reboot the phone it will work the first time, but not if I close it and try it again. Same thing if I uninstall it and reinstall.

Anyone else having any issues?

Don't know that it will fix problem but have you tried "fix permissions"?

I know I have never been able to update a ROM thru RM, kernels and themes are fine but full ROM's never. Its not that big a deal to just go into cw the old fashioned way and stuff always works

I have done a rom 1 time back in the day before you and nit taught me how to be one of the cool kids ;)

Well I can't get in there for the kernals either since that is where they are as well. That is how I loaded my stupidfast kernal and it worked fine up until the last update.

Yeah, I'm having all sorts of issues with ROM Manager since it got updated. Just going to uninstall it since it's not really necessary.

does reboot into recovery work for ya. I know RM has been updated like 3 times this week alone so maybe there is a kink in it still

Rom manager does have a history of being real screwy after updates on various phones

This is why i have never used it with any regularity or come to.rely on it

Your best bet is to just download roms/kernels/themes from the internet where you can read changelogs anyway....and then juatwflash in recovery. :)

and then juatwflash in recovery. :)
That has to be a swypo. Quite a few peeps in irc complaining about the latest RM. I mean there have been 3 updates this week compared to 3 in the last 3 months so something is up

Haha just a regular typo that i didn't notice. :)

I have been using rom manager recently since JT's DJ05 clean roms are there and I have been using the SF kernels by Geeknik. I have noticed moer updates than normal but appears to be working for me. I was able to boot into recovery and wipe Dalvik just fine.

well glad it works for someone at least :)

fwiw though you are better off wiping cache on this phone than just davlik cache...i used to advocate that given my experiences on the incredible (where some of the kernel devs beat it into your head)....but you are better off wiping full cache when flashing kernels

What is the difference between the davlik cache and the full cache? I believe that I only wiped the davlik cache when I installed my ROM.
