Root ROM Manager Question

Not Entitled
I'd like to start experimenting with ROMs and themes (as much as possible) on my DroidX but want to back up what I have working today. Enter ROM Manager. Is this the right tool to make a complete backup of my phone? By complete I mean if I took its output to another phone, I could basically clone my phone. That complete. If ROM Manager is the magic tool, do I need the premium version or will the freebie do the job?

I tried backing up my DX with the free version and got nothing (the phone rebooted but there was no output) which could be due to the version of the app, my phone or that I messed up the procedure.

Thanks in advance.

You need the DX Bootstrapper to install/backup any roms/themes. ROM manager is just a handy UI so you don't need the premium version, but it's nice to support the devs. :)

Dowlnload bootstrap recovery for droid x from Market.. Open it click the top recovery button, when it says success, theb tap reboot recovery. When you enter recovery go to backup/restore.. backup.. then let it do its thing.. Reboot when done.. Volune controls is up/down camera is enter poweris back.

I think I wanna try the apex rom. I have the rom manager premium from when I had the 1st droid is it even needed now? The way I'm understanding its only good for downloading the rom to your phone without a pc, but not install it. So I need the dx bootstrapper to backup my stock rooted phone and install roms is this correct?

yes, you need to install bootstrapper. Additionally, I recommend Apex especially to newbies because I've found it to be just as stable as stock roms and you can overclock it stably.
