Hey peeps just wondering whats the deal way rom manager? Some places say its good and use it and others are saying no dont use it.

Is it something u use?

We discourage people from using Rom Manager on this forum simply because Its not reliable. It might work in some cases but there is a chance you might brick your phone.

its banned from use in here (unofficially)

there is not one conceivable reason for you to need rom manager, its causes allsorts of confusion and fails to do its job properly

most of the roms on their are unsupported or old and can result in slcd bricks

use at your own risk, but i would urge you not as then well have to spend time helping you with the problems its created for you.

Seeing more than a few fails because of Rom Manager gives enough reason to avoid it. :)

ROM Manager worked before we had unrEVOked - since then it's a massive fail as there's no need to 'fake flash' any more.

Just learn to use Recovery and you'll wonder why you ever tried the monstrocity that is ROM Manager! :D

The Sense 3.0 is still unstable and developer only if I recall correctly.

But yes, the 2.1 ROMs are the most recent Sense iterations, some have 3.0 features in them even.

If you're looking for a nice comfortable to switch to ROM, then check out LeeDroid GB.

Not as fancy as the ROMs with newer Sense versions, but Lee makes very stable stuff. I'm running it as we speak.

+1 to that.

As much as we don't condone Rom manager, let's all remember the pre unrevoked days when it was a god send, like eddy pointed out
