Root [ROM] Mate5

Interesting. Everything works like it should a far as the phone goes. I'll re download & flash it though & see if there's a difference. Does it matter if it's flashed through RM vs. manually through recovery?
no, but toke will say differently as he hates RM lol. I do it like that ALL the time ;)

after the re-download, complete wipe (factory, cache, davlik), I reflashed the rom (through CWM recovery), and rebooted the phone. same results as above. Huawei splash was the first thing up, followed by metro screen. everything else works fine, so I'm not complaining; just wondering if I'm the only one experiencing this with the newest Mate5 update.

same thing jus happened 2 me

say, PG, is there any way to get a2sd to actually work on this rom?
for some reason, it just wont take n im liking this rom.

tried a couple multi-touch/OC kernals for da ideos u/c 8150, but no dice yet, da latest experiment has OC n multi, but kills data...

I'm discovering that the App2SD function is effectively nerfed on this device. You can do it by reformatting your SD card via CWM, but it only works for that rom install. The moment you back it up and restore, it refuses to backup SD-EXT partitions ever. Ive tried CWM 3 AND 5, and even UJ. it works ok for backin up CM7.2, but no dice for froyo roms. I think its the device itself thats frogged. Just my 2 cents XD

never mind it is in a app called ROM Manger :/

But that's not what it IS....

Cwm (ClockworkMod) recovery is a custom system recovery used to edit the rom partitions and other areas of your phone.
It can also make copies (backups) of your phones partitions and restore them on any comparable device (backups are stored on a microsd card.

Cwm is most commonly used to flash custom roms and/or scripts, but it can also be used to fix file permissions and partition an SD card.

Anyone looking to flash a rom on any android device should look into a custom recovery before flashing (some devices can be flashed via PC too, but a recovery avoids a ton of headaches.

I don't mean to be a prick but is the new updated release working well? I don't really mind a messed up boot animation I can fix that ;) but I want to make sure that the ROM is fully working with MetroPCS service and everything else. Also are GAPPS installed or do I need to get those on my own? Sorry for the noob questions, it's just that the phone isn't mine :P

I flashed 1.1 on two phones, both function normally. I don't use one, but I play tech support for lots of family and nobody has had any problems.

Well then I guess Mate5 is what I'm going for! LOL :) I'll just remove all the bloatware on it... Does CWM wrok for this phone? Wait.. did it come with all the GAPPS? I can get those myslef, I know a thread on the forum but I'd like to know :P

Sometimes you need to try several times. It took two tries for my wife's WS. My nephew summed it up best, it's like throwing a sticky waffle at the ceiling - it can take a few throws before it sticks.

I went with Cm7 and it worked great! When I need wifi, I'll either nandroid restore, or go with Mate5.. this is dumb but I notice Mate5 Is a play on words :P

is there any themes for this ... and what are the tweaks ? i flashed it but wondering bout the tweaks and all i can to do

Sorry, I didn't really specify. Most of our themes are for CM7/CM9, but I made Quicksilver for it. Also, we take requests - I can port any of my themes to Mate, or fill out a request form and we'll cook up a custom theme for you.

Cool I would like to know if you can make a flashable zip with a white clock only . I have made a status bar that resembles the htc sense's but the clock is dark so I can only see the clock when the screen is on full brightness , which drains battery

I can try, but I have an awful lot of projects going right now. If you post it as a request on my boards, someone from our team will hook you up.
