Root [ROM] Max SuperROM v2.7a {updated 7/10/14}

Hey super r... We received 4.4.2... How do I get custom recovery or root back

Root Instructions for full stock 4.4.2 devices

Download the stormer_test_unbrick.iso
Download SuperSU.zip and put it on the sdcard of your device
(optional - only if you want to install PhilZ too) Download PhilZ_recovery.zip and put it on the sdcard of your device

Enable USB debugging on your device - go to Settings > About phone. Tap on SW version several times until it says you are a developer. Hit back to get to the main settings, choose Developer options, check USB debugging, agree to the terms.

Use your favorite burning software to burn the iso image to cd. ImgBurn for windows is nice because it is free, easy, and effective. Personally I make bootable usb flash drives instead of cd's. There is a program called Unetbootin that makes the process very easy. Once the cd is burned or the USB flash drive is created, put it in your pc and reboot. Enter into your pc bios and change the boot order making the cd drive/flash drive the first to boot. Normally to get into pc bios, you need to press one of the following: del, f2, f10, or f12. It depends on the pc but it is usually right after the pc starts and it will say on the screen which one to press.

Plug in your device to the usb port.

Open the folder marked My Documents on the desktop
Then choose ZTE_Unbrick_Tool
Right click on partitions folder
Left click on Open in Terminal

Type the following in the terminal:
adb reboot bootloader
(you will need to accept something on the device at this point or it will say the device is unauthorized)

Once you are in bootloader type:
fastboot boot stormer_mmcblk0p16_recovery.img
(this will boot your device into PhilZ recovery. It will not install it, just boot to it. You will have the ability to use it as normal until you reboot)

(optional) Flash PhilZ_recovery.zip like a normal ROM on your device to install PhilZ
Flash SuperSU.zip like a normal ROM on your device. Reboot your device and enjoy root :)

Once you are rooted, please grab a nandroid and upload so I can make some roms for you guys :)

Hey guys im rooted on 4.1.2 carrier boost. Im on the stock rom but highly modified running xposed modules and a partitioned sd using link2sd. Ive overclocked and set good parameters for deep sleep so i have good battery life. Bloatware is removed. Also using greenify donated version with xposed module. I have this phone running snappy. So is there gonna be a benefit going to kitkat but most importantly this custom rom. I cant find a website showing the superrom v2.7 features or anything. Is there a link. Ive done alot to this phone and alot of testing and even though im backed up with titanium im scared to go the custom rom route. Same with 4.4 kitkat

Ps i used kinko to root on 4.1.2 will i still be able to root with kingo on kitkat or will i have to do all that stuff above to root

If you're already rooted and have a custom recovery this post will update you to 4.4 without loosing root.

We just recently got an official KitKat update, so it might be beneficial for you to just wait until a better custom ROM is developed, especially if you're satisfied with your current configuration.

Is there any other root method I'm having alot of trouble getting my pc to boot from a CD or live usb
You can try to get adb and fastboot working on your current OS. It can be a pain, especially the fastboot drivers. I won't be able to help.

Other than that, there is no other root method.

Also depending on how your computer is set up you can run a virtual machine like virtualbox to boot up the iso image.

I used Setcpu to overclock and change the i/o scheduler and governor. With screen on im running performance governor at 1180 mhz and noop scheduler and screen off im running 384 mhz and deadline scheduler with interactive governor. I tried a few others but couldn't confirm that it was actually working so i tried setCPU and downloaded busybox and bam. Setcpu gives you stats on temp and percentage in what state, etc.

Based on your information...you are not overclocked. All you did was specify a certain speed for different aspects. 1180 is the standard max speed. If you were over that amount, then you are overclocked. We need a custom kernel to actually be able to overclock

sorry to bring this back from the dead but there seems to be an issue with the wifi. Wireless data works but wifi does not and it will detect wifi from someone else's house but not the wifi from the router in my living room or my workplace. Re flash the stock room and wifi works again. It is a beautiful rom but it's just that issue. I know this has been dead for a while now but i just i'd make a note of the bug in case someone stumbles on to this thread. Thought i'd try it but wifi is a no go.
