Root [ROM] MidnightRom: Senseless

i'd say wipe and re-flash. some times its luck of the draw.

I already tried multiple times. When its reflashing in recovery, it hangs on installing kernel then says "unmounting---" (sorry i don't remember the last part) and doesn't say done or anything. But when I flash s107 it goes fine says its installed kernel than done.

Are you S-On? If you are, you should use 4EXT with Smart-Flash on or take the extra steps described in the OP.

Is the transformation of a Evo V into a 3D absolutely required for this ROM to run, or does it just make things easier, etc?

Has anyone else experienced this? :

1 core gets set to the smartassv2 governor and to being off and when you try to change anything, Kernel Tuner just force closes? It happened after playing a game, but then I tried it again after rebooting and setting things back to normal, but I couldn't recreate the problem. It could have just been a random occurrence, but I'll keep a look out...

Have you tried reinstalling Kernel Tuner from the market to see if maybe it's just a borked install?

I didn't try that but I did try using No-Frills to change the cpu speed settings, but when I went back to kernel tuner that 1 cpu was still locked. I cleared all the data from kernel tuner before trying that, so I figured it wouldn't interfere that way.

I may change to Mac kernel, seeing people are having issues

Yeah I was just about to post saying that I got that problem again and I switched to the MAC Kernel. So far so good, but I'll give it more time. I'm heading to bed right now (it's like 4AM) but once I'm up I'll be running 1.08 with the MAC Kernel and report back later.

I'm just reporting back in; the MAC Kernel hasn't given me any problems at all. I've tested most of everything that I would normally use and everything works.
I know I probably sound like a MAC Kernel lover, especially since I've been advocating its use since I started using this rom back in 1.06, but its just worked for me when Anthrax and now Buttered Toast hasn't.

Hmm...
Go HERE, and download "ICS VM HBOOT - 1.57.5757"

DO NO EXTRACT ANYTHING

Rename it to "PG86IMG.zip"

Put it on the root of your sd card

go into boot loader

and it should upgrade your hboot to version 1.57.5757

Tell me if that works

This isn't working for me... i get a "wrong zipped image" error...

Rename the file AFTER you download it. Or use a pc and do the same thing. I was getting the same error when I was changing the name before downloading.

Didn't help. I will try the fastboot method described on the unlimited.io site and see if that works... not at home right now, so I will report back if it works!

Shortround....I downloaded it on my PC, renamed it, then cut and pasted to the root of the SD card like described, it updated just fine. Now to try the 1.08 update again.

Reverted to 1.07, but flashed buttered toast kernel this time. Not liking it. Twice already had phone completely lock up and start screeching at me while listening to Pandora and trying to use Tapatalk. Back to Anthrax 3.6.4

Pulling newest revision. Put the aosp kernel in it instead of the sense kernel by accident. Gimme a few hours to reupload. Sorry guys!

Just rooted, s-off, and installed S109 with full wipe. Happy to see so much more configuration and more free space.

When I enable bluetooth the device reboots.

Do you notice this too?
How can I get more details to help?

Yeah, gimme a few hours. I put the aosp kernel in the rom by accident.

Reuploading now. It'll be done in about 2 hours. Then just redownload and reinstall. Sorry about that
