Root Rom MIUI 1.10.21

Extended battery is awesome for 2nd-init ROMs. I have a 3500 mAh battery and can go nearly 2 days with my normal use. Always make it through work for 2 days and hit the charger once I get home on the second day... battery seems better in this release...

Well, MIUI decided to take a crap. Looks like I need to get into recovery, but don't have a useable phone. It boots forever then gives me a black screen and a (charging) led.

Is SBF my only option?

That's a lot of work... :D

SBF to 602
Install D2 bootstrap from sdcard
Root with Pete's
Bypass activation (tap top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left)
Flash bootstrap, boot into recovery
Restore backup of non-2nd init rom (Apex) to get updated apps
Boot into recovery, format system/cache/Dalvik cache, flash MIUI 1.10.7
Reboot to MIUI
Boot into recovery, restore backup of 1.10.7.

Did you figure it out colchiro? Miui went a little crazy on me today too after I took some pictures... had to just pull the battery and reboot, but weird... especially weird when we both had problems on the same day...

Yes, had it up for hours now. Thanks for asking.

Also answered my own question, "can I sbf, root, then restore my miui backup".... not directly. :D

I just want to pass on some info. Tomorrow's release of MIUI 1.10.28 for the Droid X will have the 720p video recording/playback fix in it! I have been testing it out for several days and it works quite nicely!

Been out of the game a long time and want to try MIUI. I'll be SBFing to .602

Do I need to root, or will this automatically occur with the MIUI zip when I flash it after SBFing? Thanks so much guys!

Oh also forgot to ask if I need to load Droid2Bootstrap?

No, you must be rooted first then flash in Clockwork just like any other ROM.

I dl'd it earlier. Its running great and the video is flawless. Steven58 needs to check this out! Where has he been anyways?

He doesn't care about the X anymore, he's into the GNex right now ;)

Plus the power at his place is out due to the weather, he's trying to conserve power on his phone :D

It'll be a sad day when everyone moves on to other cells, which is inevitable (spelling? LOL).

The DX has been one of those fun game changers...similar to the original SOCOM. I would imagine we will always be as loyal to this great product!
