You mean use something like Titanium or Mybackup to back up your stuff right?

He means doing a nandroid backup. It's easiest to do it in 4EXT, since you can do everything at once. Just make sure you backup and restore only the data. You can do Titanium if you like, but doing the backup and restore with 4EXT it will be like as if you didn't wipe your phone at all.

Thanks however I would still like to know if I can just flash this over the old ROM by just wiping the cache and dalvik and not lose all my data. I am wondering because I tried this before with Mobster ROM and it ended up wiping all my data. I dunno if this has been addressed by Mobstergunz or not.

Nope, you can't dirty flash to keep your apps......I tried it earlier. I switched back to MidnightRom until you can dirty flash Mobster.

You'll never be able to "dirty flash" my Rom since it aligns the System, Cache, and Data Partitions meaning all the of them are wiped during the installation giving better performance to the Rom

.......... I really don't understand why you would want to "dirty flash" my Rom that will cause many problems

Shucks. I have a lot of data like apps and games that I don't want to lose, but I would still like to be running the latest ROM. I may have to try doing a nandroid and doing it that way or using Titanium to backup my data.

Yeah, just use Titanium, backup the User Apps, flash the ROM, then restore the User Apps. Make sure that you don't backup or restore any of the System Apps and you should be good to go. I have a lot of apps installed and I find it tedious to have to restore my apps every time a new MobsterRom is released, but if you're willing to do it every time, you can't go wrong, MobRom is great.

thats why i do an advanced backup of data in 4ext instead of using titanium.. it just takes way too long to restore every app one by one.. restoring in 4ext is just a tap away

I use Titanium Pro so I can run the restore in batch mode and do them in batches of about 20.

If you buy the titanium pro key, you don't have to back up or restore the apps one by one, with pro you could do it by the bulk, with only one click, titanium is a pretty cool app, worth the money.

I used to do it that way (in bulk) but i find myself just pulling the apks from data/app and re-installing them without their app data

I just finished upgrading to 2.57 and I must say Mobs you weren't lying this ROM is super fast. I have it paired with JMZs kernel oc'd to 1.62 GHz using intellidemand with noop. I used Mybackup Pro to backup and restore my apps and everything went without a hitch. Thanks Mobs for the fantastic ROM.

umm i have never gotten an error like this... pic attached.

https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BxlLty_cE1YwS2dTaFpuNWZxSVk

You were probably charging through USB. And running a ton of apps. Charge thru wall outlet

running 0 apps, after i took the screenshot it got hot and went to the bootanimation, after 30 seconds on the boot animation it started flashing white.

I used to get this when i had the Stock Battery, was Overclocked, on a weak USB Charger, and was using using HDMI all at the Same time.........

.........thats not an error its just a notification letting you know that the phones not getting enough Power to Charge and if your phone gets super hot i'd recommend carefully removing the back cover and battery to let it cool off Heat can stay trapped in the phone (even more so if its in a pocket or all covered up) and it might cause some damage (Heating is why i don't Overclock)

well im coming from an optimus v where the battery life is longer, how can i underclock your rom the most to get battery life out of it. i dont need a quadrant score for the gods, i just need to use gps, calculator, gtalk and phone.

Try using JMZs kernel or Anthrax if you want to overclock. Currently
I am using JMZs kernel with intellidemand and noop and battery life is pretty good. I am oc'd to 1.62 GHz too.

Is the battery life better in the new version of this Rom? I was losing 10% every 10 minutes with moderate usage on version 2.5

I have 4EXT and Titanium Pro. Though TP does backup and restore all my apps, its still a bit of a pain to drag them to their locations (I have many apps). Will 4EXT backup the apps and place them in the location they originated from during the backup?

Takes me over an hour to get the phone setup the way I like it.

Thanks!

I use Antutu CPU Master Pro, and have no problems with it. You can even tweak your GPU if your phone supports it.

i also have jrummys rom toolbox pro and kernel tuner 3.6, the thing is i saw something somewhere about not setting too low of a speed. and with so many choces which one is the best.

i just cant stand looking at my phone and seeing 100% battery and that meaning 100 minutes of use, regardless of brightness or radios. and thats 100 minutes of start to finish usage, on standby it gets about 1% every 5 mins. thats with ALL sync turned off and at 1188. the phone is still blazing fast, but is swallowing battery nomatter what i do, and ive tried jmz, and anthrax kernels with the same results.
