Try using a battery saver app like Battery Defender or Juice Defender and see if that helps.

Well If you use Holo Launcher (or others) you can backup your icon locations... Go into settings and look for it. Holo has both a "backup settings" and "backup desktop shortcuts". Once you have a solid backup of desktop shortcuts with all your icons the way you like them, then whenever you batch restore apps with TiBu, you then go into Holo and restore the icons where they were. I use Nova Launcher Prime myself and it has the same feature. I am sure most good launchers have this capability. Give it a whirl, I think you'll be pleased. :cool:

Takes me over an hour to get the phone setup the way I like it.

What do you mean "weak usb charger"? You mean using a usb cable that's too thin, so it doesn't let as much current through? I only ask because I bought a 10ft long cable that seems kind of thin, and I have suspicions that my phone is charging slower with this new cable. I didn't think the wire gage would make such a big difference...

i was using a charger that was meant for a small bar phone :p

The thickness of the wire means nothing for charging. When wires are thicker they're just insulated more.




Anyways, what's with 2.57 both being in the first post and in the previous version section?
 
the only 3rd party app i use is copilot gps, and i know its a hog just because of gps. however even without it i still get extreme drops in %, i have wiped everything before every install. i have hboot 1.04 and ive followed the directions in the turn into an evo 3d thread. is there a combo of settings i could use that would allow extreme battery life even if it dragged performance into the ground. also my battery stats look like the side of a jagged mountain, with huge cliffs. you can see where it drops 10-20% at once sometimes. and sometimes when you reboot its 20-30% lower.

Not sure how your battery is going down so fast...........

This my battery Life over the past 1.5 hours i've been heavily Rom Testing, heavily testing Speed and Media Performance, Installing Apps, and i was doing this while the Speaker was at Max Volume and the Screen at Max Brightness.............

also i didn't originally Charge to 100% i took it off the Charger at 98% so that means i've only spent 8% battery......... i imagine it'd be less if i had the Screen at Auto Brightness or even Dimmed

but your battery if i remember correctly is twice my size, so not fair my 1730 vs your 3500-4000... still though even 16% percent use in 1.5 hours would be better than what i got. it takes 6-8 hours of light use (solid hours worth) to go from 100% to 12% if i use it for gps i can kill the battery in 3 hours (only one hour of being on/gpsing). a freind let me borrow a cheap looking 1850ma battery to try in it, it says made for the evo 3d but its white and orange and very obviously from china, i had to use a peice of card stock for the batt to fit right. it was too short.

well............. that was my drainage while push the Phone to its limits...... Battery life is good for me i can usually leave it in my Pocket for 10 Hours and only lose 1 or 2%

The Rom had that Option for awhile now..........
 
I noticed on 2.52 that the battery drained quickly the first day, but after letting it get to about 12%, charging overnight (7 hours) and then powering down and pulling battery before restarting in the morning I had the best battery life I've ever had with this phone. My battery has been draining quickly today as well since flashing 2.57 this morning, but i'm going to do what I described above and hopefully fix it. Hope this helps, if not it's probably a bad flash and I would recommend re-installing. Try downloading the ROM again as you may have a bad version.

You should post your battery stats when this occurs.

Instead of Installing Holo Launcher HD Can't I Just put it back in the system/app folder before flashing?
