Root [ROM]{MS840} Number_Two v1.8 ~ ZVA

My bad bro, after testing fixes 1 and 2 to see if they boot I went back to my backup of beta 2 since I already had my apps installed.
What are the differences between the two fixes so we know what to look for when comparing them?

Can I dirty flash from beta 2 to 4?
all good bro, wanna be the lucky guy who's tests beta5 for me?? :D

On beta5. Scrolling is way smoother. But my keyboard feels slower than beta 4. I'm using SwiftKey.

edit: I was running beta4 with fix 1.

I'm on beta 5 but I'm using jellybean keyboard pro and I dnt have issues with it feeling slower. Maybe its the app?

Yeah SwiftKey has always been slow on the connect for me. It was fast on beta4 fix 1 tho. I wonder if flashing fix 1 over beta5 will fix that.

Also i noticed with rom#2 i get spam sms. This was something that never happened with broken out. Not trying to sound whiny just reporting everything to help build a better rom. :)

Ok, i'm going to try beta5. I'm using Broken Out right now with all patch/fix (PDroid, Data governor, CPU fix...).

I did a CWM backup. Will i have to install all my apps and patches again?

The mods for broken out probably won't work for this rom. But I believe it is already built in or will be.

As for your apps just back it up with titanium backup or something. I use romtoobox pro. Works great.

edit: make sure you pick backup app + data. This will save you the hassle of setting up all yoir apps the way you like it again.

Just bought Rom Toolbox Pro (and a couple of $.25 apps)...too many people are saying it's the ultimate tool to have, i should trust your opinions on that ;)

Looking good so far.

I did have one issue where the phone's screen turned off while I was downloading something from the Google Play Store and wouldn't respond to anything (possibly sleep of death?) but holding the power button allowed me to reboot.

I can't seem to reproduce the problem.

that basically answered my question on the performance end of things :D thank you.. im gonna apply fix 1 instead.. was using fix 2 for beta 5 lol, and i still have to do some re-arranging on the statusbar i see, thank you guys for the screen shots this is awesome!! so glad it's working out well so far :D

eventually we will have an OC'able kernel with some fun fixes etc.. just need time :D

I think its safe to say that you have now become the #1 dev for this device. The #1 means the only and the best :) lol!! I want to thank you for doing all that you're doing for us, I know you're wrkn on another device as well, so thanks for being able to keep both devices going. I know the esteem has like 4devs over there and right now we only have you and I gotta say, youre fkn awesome.... not only are you bustin your ass but you are getting updates to both of the devices at a ridiculously fast pace.

Thanks to all the devs that got us going and for giving us a couple ROM's to play with.

no no lol im not even a dev man.. im just a themer/modder at this point.. PG and MT are the devs, they just have a larger span of people/devices in need of there help so it's hard for them to constantly update everything LOL

this rom is based off of MT's BrokenOutRom, and it was thanks to pg i could even start working on this device so if anything thank them!!

i appreciate the compliment but im in no means labeled as the 'best' of anything LOL thank you but it not a competition, im just having fun on my spare time ;)

Oh yeah I've thanked those guys a lot, and I know they are some of the devs for the esteem as well as other devices not to even mention real life and work, which is why they came here gave us something to play with but had to move on which is understandable. I say you're the best because you have come along way and you learn freakishly fast lmao!! Give yourself same damn credit bro... :D

@bawlz mcnutt
How do you get those widgets on top of your screen....they look good!

that would be a diff launcher :D

Correct, I'm using Lightning Launcher.

The widget you see on top of the home screen is Elixir 2 - Widgets, a stand-alone add-on for the Elixir 2 app. I use it to basically toggle stuff on and off like 4g/3g, background data (to save battery) and 3 basic brightness settings (depending on if I'm in a room with no light, normal light or outside in the daylight).
On other devices I would also have a toggle for WiFi and bluetooth (not really needed on the Connect since it already has those toggles on the notification screen).

Hey ldrifta, I noticed last night as I was gonna set an alarm on my phone that the clock app appears to be missing.

Was it left out on purpose?

yeah lol but i accidentally forgot to replace it :p

the mod used for the backgroun image breaks the stock alarm clock for some reason.. so im gonna provide a better alternative :D

hey who wants to test something??
MAKE A BACKUP!!!!!!!

this is my 'attempt' at adding the recovery option to power menu, but like 70% chance it wont work.. figured i give it a shot :D

just make a backup, then flash this in recovery.. after rom boots check your power menu (hold power for a second) and check to see if there a link to recovery

if there is than it worked :D, but then make sure the link works ;) and all will be good haha
