Root [ROM] MS840 VV3 Firmware 04-07-13

[ROM] MS840_VV3_STOCK ROM 04-07-13

Had to do this since its a pain to update using the .cab file from LG.

MY FIRST ROM! :D


-ROOTED
-DEBLOATED
-ZIPALIGNED
-COMPLETELY STOCK
-VV3 Firmware

DOWNLOAD:

UPDATED 04-07-13
- added a 2.3 keyboard from the PlayStore
- revised system apps

Installation Instructions:

-Download ROM & place on sd card

-boot to CWM Recovery (Use AllInOnePackage-Miami01guy to reboot recovery)

-wipe data/factory restore
-wipe cache partition
-wipe dalvik cache

-install rom

-reboot

-Enjoy!!

Thanks Ldrifta for the updater-script grabbed it from your rom. (only way to make it work)

Installation Instructions:

-Download ROM & place on sd card

-boot to CWM Recovery (Use AllInOnePackage-Miami01guy to reboot recovery)

-wipe data, cache & dalvik cache, (recommended: format system if you know how to)

-install rom

-reboot

-root it after rebooting (Use root option in AllInOnePackage-Miami01guy )

I tried to root it but once installed it doesn't have root access. Im still trying to figure it out. If anyone could help I'll do it as soon as I get the way. I'm sure is on the updater script.

Wow this was made after i f***** my phone oh well reroot and install this to take a look at it

It's cool, no rush. I've finally got some free time so I'm going to do it the "ol' fashioned way" then re-work my stripper to meet the community requirements, and add anything that may be in vv3 to it as well - gives me something to do that keeps my hands busy tonight as I need an excuse.

Hey you should ask for some help if you don't know how to do what I'm asking you should add a quick memo in the status bar like a shortcut to activate idk if its to much to ask

Perhaps instead of suggesting someone should ask for assistance you should in fact reconsider what you're asking them to require assistance for.
In order to add a "shortcut" tot he status bar for quick memo he'd have to re-write a GOOD portion of the launcher in order to make it fit, make it activate, give it an active, non active, pressed, not pressed, sleep, suspend, power up, and power down state. Not to mention the trouble of getting it to fit without showing things off the screen, cluttering the status bar (more than it already is) and various other things.
If you are that worried about having an icon then perhaps YOU should do some research on how to add a shortcut to your home screen. I think that would benefit you more than it would for him to recode something that is STOCK and meant to be.

Quickmemo its always on you just have to hold up & down volume buttons and voila!

That's why I said if its not to much to ask for I know he's not a full on dev or maybe he is idk it was a suggestion not a demand I know how much trouble it is

So I'm trying to figure out if we just need to download your "rooter" or the entire rom for the root to work -
Other than that, I downloaded your tool, and you've got what looks to be a nice lil typo in your batch file.
Line 77: Files\adb shell "chmod 6755 /system/bin/su"
That should be 755, should it not?
Also, why not just chmod them to 777 in order to prevent any "issues" from arising? Why 755?

I uploaded the new zip today ... Its rooted no need to root again :-)

I'm not entirely sure if you noticed this or not, but there are a few necessities that are no where near bloat imho (and I am an extremist when it comes to the definition of "bloat."
The main one is the video player (not the google one, but the stock app for video playing that ties into all apps that call mp4, and 3gp protocols.)
Did you mean to remove this, or is it just "not in vv3 to your knowledge" because it's quite odd that it's gone.

This ROM doesn't have it but stock vv3 has it that im running
 
Im noticing more stuff as I get more into this... thanks for bringing this up I will look into this as soon as I get home Ill definitelty be posting a newer rom Ill be updating some stuff tonight or tomorrow morning. I will look closer when I do this kind of stuff.
Bare with me guys Im still in learning mode :-)
