Root [ROM] MS840 VV3 Firmware 04-07-13

That sucks!!
I guess its a bug just with certain Bluetooth items... I use the Bluetooth to connect with my Nexus 7 for file transfering and with tablettalk it works fine.

I tried that and with my nexus7 and it's works here and there

ah crap, wasn't paying attention and I just formatted data, dalvik cache then flashed the rom (wasn't paying attention to the miami guy zip).

Got a bootloop after the metropcs logo, any quick fixes? it's been so long i can't even remember the key combinations for the recovery lol

Hope you are joking!!

nope lol, but it's cool now. just flashed it via the cab files and stuff I found in the unbrick section.
VV3

Now I just want to flash this over it to debloat it etc... if it's working of course :)

oh one thing isn't quite clear, first flash the rom, then flash the miami guy zip (to reboot afterwards) right? The instructions looked a bit backwards, but i've seen the bootloop fix zips before so I figure it's like that, but correct me if i'm wrong.

ah nevermind, it's a zip with tools to root so you can flash the zip.

By the way still threw me into a bootloop after flashing again. Made a backup first, at least this time VOL- + POWER took me into CWM so i'll just restore it. No biggie.

If you used the VV3.cab to unbrick it then just ROOT + CWM and then DEBLOAT using the AllInone-Miami01guy. It will give you the same content as this rom.

This ROM is just a easy way to install the VV3 with CWM if your device is not bricked of course... it shouldnt give you bootloops anyways.

I tried that too, no luck. the script rebooted my phone, didn't go into clockworkmod, then the script failed saying it couldn't find all those apk's.

Well besides, after looking at the script I decided to keep polaris office and SmartShare (If you have an LG Smart TV you'll want to keep this too)

I just disabled all the apps I didn't want with an app called 'App Quarantine' to get the same effect. Now I just have to de-bloat and deodex later when I get a chance. I've been wanting to make a script take care of all this nonesense anyways from a pc without having to do anything locally.

I'm just gonna write an app to pull all the apk's and odex files locally, zipalign + deodex them, then push them right back, then delete the odex files on the phone. That would be generic to all phones too I would think :) I'm pretty tired of using the android kitchen for stuff, it works, but i needs some work.

So far this is what i've gathered from VV3, after debloating it myself:
-1hr of light usage brought me down to 78% (used 22%), seems higher than ZVA Rom #2 1.8
-I have a 4G icon, it shows LTE connected, but i'm not getting anything over like 100kb/s when 4G normally gives me 1.5-3Mb/s in miami (this could be related to a recent phone I added, the possibly reduced my service cap accidentally. Checking on this).
-It's pretty smooth as far as scrolling/speed goes.
-No reboots (yet. I haven't run it a full day)

Just as I thought. Called them, the messed up my plan when i added a line.
On the $60 plan + VV3 + Miami Area, i'm getting:
7.31 - 8.58MB/s Down
3.06 - 3.76MB/s Up

It varies a bit each run. Not sure if that's better or not, can't remember the last results before i falshed. By my girl's LG motion was around 13MB/s Down last night :( Antutu was also 2x better in pretty much every score.

If I want to revert back to ZVA, I can just CWM restore from backup correct?

No one has attempted you could and why would you back to any ZVx software anyways again no one has tried I think and idk if you mess something up but hey theres a unbrick guide so no worrys if you brick

Actually you can restore zva backup through cwm.. it wont mess with any functions within the phone.. i tried it and it works! The only cons i had about the vv3 rom was that you cant stream long videos (movies), i just gets stuck on loading and never plays and restored a zva backup, and the video worked just fine.. it acrually loaded faster than wait time in vv3.. (i was also in the same area trying to stream through vv3 and zva) please fix if you can.. oh and the 04-07-13 rom loses root on me after wipe and flash.. please fix this, i really like this rom but has its bugs that need fixing
