Root [ROM][MS870] Katana

I pay 50 a month on Brighthouse and I get 18-19Mbps down on good days. They have a 70 a month plan but that's wideband which I dont need

Do you have the apks of the originals? Can I use an uninstall app like uninstall master to do it? I used that for the DSP manager since I didn't need it.

Also this thread has turned into more of a community discussion thread than a thread about katana lol

I'm not at my dev PC at the moment. Just download my Icy Spirit rom and extract the originals from it.

I've never used any uninstall apps, but if I did I would use titanium. So the choice is up to you.

Yeah we seem to hang out in this thread frequently. Perhaps we may need to start a hangout thread to talk about anything no matter the subject. lol

Is there a way to get a newer version of Google Now in Katana v3? This version of gnow runs boggy once in awhile. Not a huge problem but newer versions also have cool new features.
 
Why don't I have the option to factory and data restet with the lte 2nd init recovery with touch. With the first version I do. But i can't install rom with sd card for some reason. how am I supposed to go about wiping all data with the version with touch?:confused:

It's very obvious you're doing something wrong, otherwise everyone else using this ROM would be bricking also. :rolleyes:

I noticed that in the past couple days you been posting with issues on different threads.

I suggest sticking with the stock phone and reading around the forum till you have gathered enough info to properly mod your phone.
 
Yeah I know. Im sorry. But ive been reading all day about custom roms. I followed all the directions properly. My phone was working fine with the katana rom. Then I restarted it and boom I got the security error. I unbricked the phone. Re-did the rom and I just set up the phone again. I restarted it and again security error :/

You sure your not doing any modding or uninstalling apps?

Try installing the ROM again. Once it boots up restart the phone. If if bricks then maybe a bad download??

I have only uninstalled the google play books and magazines thing. I will try redownloading the rom again and reinstalling again. If this happens i guess i will read into custom roms more and learn more before trying again. Could It be that i used the adblock the rom comes with and i used it to restart the phone? I also did not make a back up.
 
sound like he's either deleting something he shouldn't or one of the apps he's installing on his phone is causing a conflict. if you are using LG's backup app. don't install your old settings.

I only installed snapchat /:. Im thinking maybe because I enabled the adblock that comes with the rom and it asked to restart my phone. so i let it. And then i got security error. Next time I will not delete the google play magazines and books app. Maybe its because I deleted a google app.

not suppose to delete any of the Google play apps. Adway doesn't have a rebooter.
