Root [ROM] Nils Business sense 4.0

I just saw on XDA that nils business sense released a sense 4.0 version. Has anyone given this a try? Is it stable enough for daily use. I don't have enough free time during the week to try a Rom if it won't be stable and have Bluetooth media and phone. I love business sense, and love sense 4.0 so it seems good. I'll try it out this coming weekend probably if no one can give me an update about the stability before then. Thanks.
 
hmm now that bluetooth phone is fixed,i may give it a shot. that was the bug that was keeping me from flashing it prior. i generally like nils roms :smokingsomb:

It is fantastic. Battery life is amazing. No lag. No issues what so ever. (Other than his listed known issues. Which is few and none that affected me anyway.)

That's what I was hoping to hear. I've been running newts xxx and love sense 4.0, but I get some lag, mediocre battery life, and lots of random fc's and reboots. Nothing to stop me from using, but if there is a better option out there....I think I shall try to get time to flash this in the next few days

thats odd... i do have a small amt of lag when flipping between homescreens on occasion,but i dont think ive ever had a reboot or FC. and my battery life is spectacular!

however,im planning on giving business 4.0 a flash tonite :D

I have had few issues with Newt's XXX...jut a reminder to reset my clock. Not sure what that is about but it's easy enough to ignore.

yeah i get that too. even tho my clock is set to the correct time zone. its pretty easy for me to ignore as well :smokingsomb:

Is it the "time zone" message/error? I had gotten that quite a bit on Clean ROM PRO, but disabling the update automatic time zone was the only fix for me. Since I'm in the same geographic area all the time it wasn't a big deal to me.

Anywho, here is the search thread from XDA about the issue and it's probably been discussed a million times. I haven't been on here forever and am ready for a new ROM and saw this post.

Flashed and thus far LOVING this ROM. It seems to run faster and smoother than Newts XXX already. I'm working on getting everything set up. I was able to use my bluetooth headphones to make a phone call and listen to music.

I did find that if you use trace keyboard and spell checker, there is a text keyboard towards page 41 that Nilps posted. This fixes it, although he said it will be in the next release whenever it is ready.
 
all right i'm pissed this thing is stuck at the load screen for 10 minutes, what should i do? I followed all the directions.
 
it seems to have the same minute lag that one xxx had for me.

so far:
plus:
-working my verizon
-i dig the transparencies and mild darkish theme

minus:
-no quick settings :mad:

so far i like it as well... well see how it goes tomoro :smokingsomb:

yeah... that guy is a shortcut to the full phone settings.its not quite the same for me,lol... i like the dual tab style,with just a few settings. or the cm style across the top of the pull down :D

with the dual tab quicksettings,i can go to the settings tab,turn on BT,then back to the first tab to call back a missed call. its not a big enuff deal to stop using it. :p

capri it is a looooong first boot. i was starting to think mine was hung as well. i didnt pay attention to the actual time frame,but it seemed like forever. may have been 10 min :eek:

Scotty, I'm quite excited I actually get to show you something, even if it is simple. There really is a true quick settings "tab" style feature. Don't click the settings icon on the right, click on the word Verizon. It will switch tabs and allow you to click bluetooth on, or GPS on just like the old quick settings.

The only differences that I see is you cannot hide/reorder them. I actually like it a lot this way. I always hated the tabs across the bottom due to the fact that I swipe down with my thumb at the top, and then have to move it all the way to the bottom to switch to quick settings. I used quick-quick settings, but I have a few "running" notifications (like weather bug elite) that I didn't like having to switch to.

Anyway, click the "word" verizon and you'll find it still has quick settings :smokingsomb:.

ooooooooooh *smacks forehead* i see it now, i didnt really realize you meant to tap the actual word verizon. the student has become the teacher indeed :cool:

so... that brings me to no minuses thus far lol. happy to have my quicksettings back :D

Not a chance. I'll be asking you something before the end of the week probably. Just nice to help instead of only asking questions, since you've answered so many of mine.

On a side note. Remember a week or two ago when I installed newts xxx and I had the sync icon for like 2.5 days? I must have some app, or something that takes a very long time to sync the first time, because this Rom is doing the same thing. Hopefully it goes away after a day or two. Just wonder what could be causing that long of a sync. Anyway you no of for me to find out?
 
Id start by checking settings/apps/running and.see whats there. You could.try temporrily freezing anything suspect and see if the sync stops.

Fwiw,my sync icon isnt present,so good chance you have an app messing with you

It's weird, airplane mode doesn't take it away, and neither does shutting off and turning back on. I uninstalled the two apps I installed after switching to newts, everything else was on before hand. Guess I just have to deal with it for a few days haha
 
I have experienced one or two FC's on a TV Guide app I downloaded, but it always works the second time around. But that is the only FC Ive seen so far. Took me awhile to find the quick settings too, even though, I dont use them very often.

FWIW, I dont have the sync icon either. In his earlier versions, the wifi turned off icon was in always in the notification bar. I never use wifi, so it was super annoying, but he got rid of that in this version.

The one thing I miss is being able to scroll all the way through my home screens. This one stops in either direction and have to go backwards to get to the other side. Anyone know if there is a setting for that that I dont know about?

I've had no force closes so far, so hopefully that stays true. I think all in all, this Rom feels a bit more "finished" than Newts Xxx did. As for the sync issue, that went away after a couple days on newts, hoping it does the dame here.

I too liked the screens to roll around. Newts couldn't do it either. Maybe it's been removed in sense 4.0?
