Root [ROM] Number Two (#2) v3.0.1 {ZVE}

Dude your doing an awesome job, I say just stick with 1.9.1. It works flawless You already know every phone is different, so its kinda hard to meet the standards for every phone, its always gonna be something different this don't work and that don't work, my battery dont last etc....... you already know,So don't go crazy take a break bro. :)

+1 Plus We all understanf how hard it is :D I Hope. So do what you think is best for the rom

cool.... so ya i sort of jumped right into this... i only had 1.9.1 for a hour or two and came from black plague.so i dont know what im missing...then saw the update and downloaded it......

ya was a bit laggy (out the box)... so i flashed bp kernel and it didnt work... tried the blitz 2.1 kernel and did the speed tweaks i had used from PG using rom toolbox (you can see speed tweaks lg esteem on utube)... And the phone has really not had a prob...sure it may get alil warm when i OC...but no crashes, random reboots, or force closes and my dialer is not laggy at all...

But if L's is saying 1.9.2 is falling apart...then damn...:(
but imma hold on for the ride ;)

GOOD JOB ON THE ROM ANYWAYS... STILL SPORTING IT ;)

ok hopefully this will simplify things a lil for you guys lol, the MAIN reason i updated to 1.9.2 was for OC'ing capabilities.. i know there was all these issues with diff kernels etc.. so i just took out some of my things and replaced with stuff from MT's rom.. im not saying his tweaks are good or bad, but im thinking maybe (again) they interacted with other tweaks etc.. so causes issues.. lol so yeah like i said.. i would really like to de-tweak it a lil...

for the f of it i restored my zvd stock backup just to compare the speed and i must say, stock is not that bad.. just overbloated so of coarse it's a lil sluggier-ish lol, thats why i kinda want to see how it runs de-tweaked (except for like battery saving tweaks etc..) but all the opther fancy things added over time..

I hate to say it, but I'm having some trouble with 1.9.2; it's mostly little things like visual voice getting some contacts messed up or the lack of alphabetical order in Titanium Backup. It's just strange. Maybe it was a bad flash? Maybe the idiosyncrasies of my phone? Idk, but I didn't have time to mess with it, so I went back to 1.9.1 and I figure that -- by the time I have time -- a new update will be out anyway cause Idrifta is the man and that's how he rolls. =)

haha thanks, and yeah odds are ill be putting something out.. but ill be sure to keep the 1.9.1 up for you guys if it a no-go..
 
I would suggest to just keep all the versions available for everyone to find a happy medium for themselves. I'm using the Plague kernel with the .2, & I'm getting great speeds. But my battery goes quickly. But I'm more interested in performance

So I've flashed my backup for 1.9.1. .2 just wasn't getting along right.

Thank to L for all his hard work on this. Remember guys to show your appreciation. These guys don't do this as a job that makes money, they do it because people care and want it. Therefore a "THANKS" goes a long way and always try to pay it forward while in the community.

If people didn't give back as much as they take, imagine what we "wouldn't" have. :D
 
I'm using number 2 but i want to use one of the lg esteem stock wallpaper, does anyone know where i can get them?

Google maybe? I might have some on my computer somewhere.

Or you can rip them from a stock back up or ROM.

I don't even remember what they look like honestly.
 
L, you do awesome work and have been here supporting the community for that we thank you. I know you have answered allot of questions for me. I learned allot from your Roms, me taking stuff apart to see whats inside and whats changed.

My 2 cents ... I think that if you give us a stock ZVD (heavily de-bloated) with stock icons including the battery icon, and the best tweaks for optimal battery improvements, would be great. Let the users theme the ROM as they see fit . That way you only have one rom to work on and not 2 or more...

I tried Google. came up with nothing. how would I get them from the rom? I tried the wallpaper all but didn't work

Well the factory stock wallpaper is located in framework res.apk in the drawables folder. It's just one though, the main stock one.

Look at my battery life. I don't think it is the ROM though. I was getting 16 + hours. This happened today.

Yeah it looks like your phone has been awake almost the whole time you can never get good battery life like that. not the rom for sure. also noticed you have location on big killer if you keep on all the time

I have actually done a ton of testing of different settings and location doesn't make a huge difference. I couldn't see any at all.
