Root [ROM] OMGB v7 1/20/2011 Gingerbread 2.3

You will if you are on this rom. It's the only way to mount to your PC. But it's a built in script from a built in app. Don't sweat it, just run it when you need.

Haha, you got me on that one. It's not in the market from what I can tell, but I think it's only Sense based. I found the .apk but it comes with an odex file zipped up. I don't believe I can flash it, right? Where would the .odex file go?

quadrant ran about 3 out of 6 times for me. Ran it just out of curiosity, numbers are meaningless to me, rom is very smooth for everything I use it for.
Think the scores were about 1350

Fully agree, I've hit as high as 1600 and as low as 1250 and the whole thing seems kind of fruitless to me.

This might be a stupid question, so i wont even take it to XDA lol

Is there any way to change the dialer? I liked the froyo dialer and it is very useful to me.

So i click the "Phone" icon and it takes me to a screen that is 50% filled with recent calls, 50% filled with dial pad

So if i want to call Dave, i just start typing his name and i see it come up in the list above.

Thats very handy for me, but i dont know how involved it would be to change it

The only thing "new" I can tell you at this point (and I will update the OP) is that OMGB6 is in ROM Manager now!!

im sitting at work and it says networks are available. I connected to the wifi earlier, so i know it worked.

Now i see my wireless in the list, and hit on it but it says im not in range.

I see my router on the desk in front of me

wth?

If you look at the OP, I specified what was updated:

****1/05/2011: Nothing major to report in the last week other than it appears all the "system dump" builds have been removed and OMGB6 is now available through ROM Manager!!

What is the consensus on battery life?

Someone posted that they were getting amazing batt life with MIUI Koush Test 2. I wanted to try that but saw this.

Any comparisons between this ROM and latest MIUI with respect to battery life?

Battery life is totally contingent on how much you are online.
 
Bearly battery life on omgb6 is tremendous....give a lot of credit to it's kernel which is one of invisibleks.

I have not tried any of the latest iterations of MIUI. It was my daily however for a month. Compared to that this omgb6 is miles better.

Give it a shot and see how your usage lasts...that is the only real way to find out ;)
 
Its only been a day or 2 for me, but im not blown away by the battery (yet)

so far its on par with my other dailies, Business Sense, and SkyRaider.

But its only been 2 days and im at around 60%, im going to let it run down a bit more and see how it behaves at lower levels.

im on the extended battery, so ill typically go 3-4 days without a charge. so far this is on par

PS, in its defense, i have beaten it up pretty good to play with it and set it all up
 
You're right, there really isn't much of a diff in battery. But... this rom rocks. I don't know exactly what it is but the feel of this is my style. I also have ADW EX and just home switched back to it. That is one heck of a launcher. You need to apply the rom with fixes and in a somewhat organized order. That's the key.
