Root [ROM] PACE 4.3: Pure Android, CAF/CM Enhanced

Any chance of putting up a test build so we can start on the bug test? Or are the 2-3 minor issues show stoppers for the moment?

Sdcard mounting is one and selinux permissions for kickstart is another. I'd rather just fix them before release. They are both likely one liners.

And by the way, starting with kk you will need an updated recovery that is capable of laying down selinux permissions. The test build worked without it but my release won't and neither will CM 11. rmcc just updated the recovery today so you can give it a try. Be careful though the first try had sdcard mounting issues. The fixed version should be 6.0.4.5.

Yeah the latest cm10.2 nightly has the same SD mount issues.

So are you talking about cwm recovery needing to be updated? Sorry for the noob question. Are you going to provide a link to get the latest cwm cuz that would rock

Once Koush puts out an update image file for the touch recovery, I'll quick build an update.zip for it. We'll also need to add these notes to the bootloader unlock tool. I'm guessing that TWRP will need to be updated as well.

Might just need to pull the new sources and change the selinux flag to yes.

*edit*
Hmm... this flag is already set....

HAVE_SELINUX := true -- includes SELinux support for backup/restore, required for CM10.2 and requires CM10.0 or higher (CM9 and below do not have libselinux)

I'll try to post an updated TWRP build for this shortly, which should *hopefully* work to flash kitkat roms. Hopefully there's been a commit that actually sets SELINUX permissions.

Oh wait... that was p930. I'll get him to update the vs920 recovery tomorrow.

i updated recovery through Rom Manager app to 6.0.4.5 last night and now it will not boot past recovery. It also wont install any backups, failing at restoring /data. I cant flash any roms i have as it only boots into recovery. PLEASE HELP!

Status update... I've been really busy lately trying to get the vs920 recovery sorted out, getting official cm11 support working, and trying to get kk working on my e980. Since the e980 is my main phone now, I'm afraid iproj is going to take a back seat for a few days. The good news is that cm expects to start 11.0 builds about Friday 11/15 and I'm sure iproj will be ready then or very soon after.

There is a new CWM recovery posted in the "stuck in 6.0.4.5" post that has the "assert fixed" to allow flashing new roms. The recovery posted above would not play nice with Pace or CM10.2 nightly rom flashing.

Hope I'm not breaking any rules, but the gapps-kk-20131118 posted at this link seems to fix the calendar sync issue

Dev-Host - gapps-kk-20131118.zip - The Ultimate Free File Hosting / File Sharing Service

Breaking the rules? Nah, doubt it... But you should provide a link to some sort of credit/explanation... Android 4.4 KitKat G-apps available, also from Paranoid Android.

Seems that there are 2 versions available. Claims that they should be ART compatible.

Had the night off so I tried Pace 4.4 test. It works well and smooth except for 3 main issues 1) camcorder locks up phone, 2) lost root, 3) lost 3G/LTE usage. I used 103113 KitKat Gapps. Nandroid back to latest nightly on 10.2 which has been rock stable for me.

I had the same camcorder issues. For root, you need to install the SU file in the beginning of this thread in recovery. No issues with data on my phone.

Thanks. Will wait for Pace44 test 2 to retry. The data thing was weird as when I tried Pace44 test 1 with TWRP 2.6.3.0, it installed and I had data (could not install KK Gapps with TWRP 2.6.3.0). I then switched to CWM assert fixed which installed both Pace44 test 1 and KK Gapps 103113, but then data was gone despite rebooting many times.

I see that there is a new version of CWM floating around.... I was trying to rebuild TWRP to see if I can't get it to support kitkat... Build errors out. I tried to just build CWM, build errors out.

Any chance you could share anything you had to do to get CWM to build correctly based off of a recent 10.2 CM pull? Or does it build correctly from these PACE sources?

Don't know. rmcc built it.

I'm getting the error msg in CWM, something about not recognizing the device type, thought I had seen a discussion about it somewhere but can't find it now... Using Nephs Assert-fixed zip

I'd try it.... but I actually went back to 10.1.3 for stability as this is my DD... Still waiting for reports on stability/reboots etc.

Great work though as always
