Root [ROM] Preludedrew's ICS-March 28-Alpha1

I thought I saw on xda today that drew has released a newer version. Is that true? I think it said something about twitter, which, unfortunately, I'm old and dumb and have never been able to figure out how to use. :(:eek:

He fixed USB storage and added a notifications toolbox, hit the settings button on the notifications bar and it gives you various things such as toggles, volume/music controls, and battery info.
 
very cool! Thank you. I've been using the previous build last few days, and am completely in love with it. Was getting pretty bad battery drain, but just got a Wi-Fi card in my house, and running on Wi-Fi getting awesome battery life. Dunno why mobile data is causing such awful battery drain, though. .. hhmmmm

Edit: auto-brightness doesn't work for me on p4. Is it working on p5? Anyone know?

Running p5 now. Super sick. Auto-brightness still not working,.....and does anyone know of a way to remove the new toggles from notification? It feels very clumbsy, and I realty prefer just straight to settings. Would I just replace the whole systemUi.apk?

I don't think their is a way to remove them but I do know that if you long press the settings button it goes to settings. Auto-brightness doesn't work for me as well.
 
Can't get calendar to sync. In p4 calendar sync was working using the calendar fix from decks thread. Unfortunately, I deleted the files from SD, and link is removed from decks thread. Anyone have their calendar syncing? Other than that, p5 is way snap pier a smoother that p4. In my experience.

Like a lot better? I ran preview 4 for about an hour out so and thought it felt kind of sluggish. Deck kind of feels that way too. They're just do slow compared to the gingerbread roms. Does the recent build from Drew seem closer to gingerbread speed?
 
P5 seems way faster and smoother to me
But can't get calendar to sync on any gapps package. Hoping someone knows a trick.

BTW , mizzoubrent, thanks for this thread. Don't know where else to discuss drews ROM, and I've never figured out twitter.

The way i got calendar working, go to your accounts and sync settings, delete your google account, install APKs from Decks thread, go into recovery wipe cache and dalvik, reboot, install APKs again, then add account again. If it doesn't work the first time try again.

Fixed everything!!! Thank you soooo much, man !

Edit: actually, the email didn't work for me (my yahoo account, but I just frankenstein'd in the email apps from a diff gapps and fix permissions and reboot and all good now). P5 running smooth and fast as silk (well, after installing Nova launcher - stock/default launcher give me many FC on both builds). Again, a million thanks

Yeah I couldn't get the email to install but I only use gmail so it didn't really matter to me and I thought it was only my phone they weren't installing on.
 
I CANNOT BELIEVE this thread hasntjust blown up! Maybe it would do better on xda. This thread is the only reason I come here.......(cuz I'm too old and/or stupid to figure out how to use twitter lol ).

It has blown up, look at how many views it has. Just not as many respondents ;) I believe once this is in beta stage and more people run it as a daily, then more responses will happen

Just thought I'd ask if you intend to keep this updated? I super appreciate you posting this here. I set up a twitter account, but swear I'm not using it right, for some reason it really confuses the hell outta me.

haha If he doesn't keep it up I will, but I highly believe that he will
 
Anyone else having insane battery drain like as in its going down while charging? Also is there any way to see whats eating the battery the battery settings doesn't tell me mine.

EDIT: it says battery usage data unavailable

I don't think there is a more current build yet. Once the next build drops I'll update everything
