Root [ROM] Quattrimus JB (CM10, AOKP41)

After some investigation, it seems the act of setting the property gsm.baseband.version does something to stop the boot process. Getting the baseband string but not setting the property seems to work fine. And this only happens on first boot after a full wipe. Very very strange.
 
Can someone post a copy of beta 4 of cm10 please. This beta 7 is plagued with issues on my phone. I could list about ten things I've experienced that I've never before had and I've tried everything and nothing works. I would just like to flash back to beta 4 because my issues started with beta 5

I also flashed back to V7 using the debloated SOTARD playfulgod made and my phone ran fine and the battery charged normal so beta7 is definitely where all my issues are.

Unfortunately I erase my old copies of roms when new ones are released and therefore all I have on my phone is beta7 and on my pc all I have is beta1. So if someone could please upload beta4 I would be so thankful! thanks
 
I get the reboot when in gallery... has that been fixed in the RC? Also, I love AOKP 41, when I go to charge and phone completely off, I have to unplug it (bad for battery) in order to get it to boot then place back onto charger. Anyway to fix this? Are there any boot animations on the lose? Would like to have a different boot animation, I live the unicorn, just not All the time. Tdm you the man. Might have to go to Seattle and buy you a drink. Tacoma sucks.

Haven't heard of a reboot from gallery. Do you have logs?

The charger thing is on my list.

Boot animations are customizable in the usual way.
 
How do I get a log? Still new to custom ROM world. When I am in gallery for pictures, I accidentally hit the power button and it rebooted. Love the work. Also, can't wait for the lucid to be unlocked, my friend jade wants to run the pimped out unicorn as well.
 
Where do I locate custom boot animations as well, they are flashed through cwm correct? This is a whole new world from when I rooted and flashed my D1, had bug less beast gingerbread. Can't wait for 4.2.x to be released.

I assume you know how to use the basics of adb? To get a logcat, open a command prompt in the same folder as your adb file, make sure debugging is enabled on your phone, then type 'adb logcat > logcat.txt'

If you need a last_kmsg, tdm built a script into the rom to log those but I don't know where they are.
 
Your assumptions would be incorrect my good man. I have to also wait to get my laptop back, its being modded and updated to windows 8 @ the moment...

There are several threads you can find with a google search of boot animation zips. There are also several apps for changing your boot animation, for example:

What I personally use is ROM Toolbox Lite:

Which includes a library of boot animations and installer, root browser, and several great other features.

You can get logs on the phone, but it's cumbersome. Immediately after an app crashes, open a terminal and run this:

logcat -d > /storage/sdcard0/logcat.txt

Also, the previous ten kernel logs are saved automatically in /data/local/tmp.

boot animations are super easy to change. Just get a root browser so you can explore root on your phone and navigate to system/media and you'll see a zip there called bootanimation.zip just swap that file out with any boot animation you want. I currently use the stock 4.2 nexus 4 boot animation which is just a simple little nexus X it's very classy ;]

Like others said you can use apps from the market to change them as well and I used to use rom toolbox pro but most of the bootanimations there are not made for 720p HD screens and are rather dated, but there are some nice ones scattered through the list of absolute junk.

my nightmare continues...my phone is just a buggy piece of trash now. IF only I could get the cab to work :[
 
Update:

All systems go. It was an initial reboot, now it won't do it haha. Flashed RC 1, and smooth as Hell. Thanks tdm, seriously need to get to Seattle and buy you a drink and how to build roms. Now need a kernel and undervolt. Other than sms not sending more than 160 characters, love AOKP 41, thank you. Eta on 4.2.x? Will we ever see the ability to run two apps at once?

Phones I have rooted and have custom roms:

Galaxy Fascinate 4.2.1 official build
LG Spectrum
LG Lucid (waiting for unlocked boot loader)
OG Droid bugless beast ginger bread
Galaxy S3 Cyanogenmod 10.1

Every time I tried to use the KP500, all of the text was replaced with ????.

I ended up using the LGNPST that was used for the LEAKED ICS>

Of course I had to recover my MEID using the tool for that.
But that was the only way that I can flash a cab.

Using Win 7 64 BIT.

I could try my old M405 with XP Home but that thing has a whole 512mb. RAM.
It still dual boots Linux MINT 11. I found a 1gig RAM for $30.00 on Amazon..

I'm not familiar with how to use that. Wish I was because I really need to do something with this phone, it's totally ruined now. Someone else I know had the same setup and issues as I did and flashing the cab fixed all their issues so I'm sure it's all I need to do. Weird thing is though that when I flash the stock V7 SOTARD today my phone seemed to run fine, but I didn't really run it that long so maybe I just didn't test it long enough. I just mainly wanted to make sure the battery charge was working right because it was going so slow on cm10 and aokp41. That all checked out fine but now that I'm back on cm10 I'm still having some weird issues, and battery charging seems slow still, though not as slow as it was last night.
