Are there currently any sense 3.0 ROMS available that do not destroy the battery life? I have tried a couple ROMS recently and found they drain the battery pretty quick.
Thanks

what kernels have you tried? i'm on merge with aggressive freedom .9 kernel and i have gotten 16 hrs or so so far. are you using setcpu?
you can try mik3d. one of my favorite roms so far.
Something to keep in mind when comparing battery life, you'll need to go through a few cycles of charging and running it out before the ROM "settles." I'd give it a try when you have a solid 2-3 days minimum to see how the ROM really runs.
Also, you can change settings on your phone that will help slow down the way it seems to eat through the battery.
Turn off Auto-Brightness and set it low whenever possible. If there's glare or you're outside you'll need to turn it up, but more often than not you can get away with setting it around 20% or so.
Also, use Wi-Fi and turn off the Mobile Network if you have the option to during the day. You'll still receive calls and texts, so it's great if you have Wi-Fi at work.
If you are a heavy widget user, that's eating battery too. Turn the settings to update at the longest possible interval or only when opening the app (manual).
Make sure SetCPU is running properly so when you're not doing anything with the phone (ie- screen off) it's draining as little power as possible.
Do these things and use a stable ROM and you should notice a HUGE difference in battery life!![]()
i've used the kernal that had came with the rom. if i flash the one you suggested, do i flash it before or after i flash the rom? still new to rooting so im not sure what the process is yet.
Definitely flash the Kernel after you flash the ROM, make sure to wipe Cache/Dalvik Cache in between.

Actually I have a really great link with excellent instructions on the whole process.

If more people would follow the steps in this spreadsheet I guarantee we'd have way fewer troubleshooting requests.![]()
which stable kernals/roms would you recommend?
how is your battery life?ROMS:
MikG v2.50 (updated to 2.51, then to 2.52; between flashing updates only wipe Cache/Dalvik Cache, like you did when flashing a Kernel)
Mik3D Beta 1
SOS (Swagged Out | Stock)
KERNELS:
Golden Monkey v1.1
More Freedom (I think V.9 or something like that? The one with HDMwIn for mirroring.)
Those are just what I personally run with, a lot of people enjoy AOSP ROMS because they are so much lighter and typically more energy efficient. I'm willing to sacrifice battery life to make my Evo pretty, so I roll exclusively Sense ROMs.
EDIT: You can follow the ROMS/KERNELS collection on the forum, once you get more comfortable with flashing, feel free to try new ROMs. Every phone is different, so yours may like certain ROMs/Kernels more than others.
how is your battery life?
I more than make it through the day. Granted, by around 6 or 7 I'm down to 42% battery life, but that's after a day of constantly fidgeting with it and using it to distract myself from work.
flashed mik3D beta 1 and booted up fine, when i unlocked everything was force closing.
My best advice for that would be to wipe thoroughly (hopefully using Amon_Ra) and try again. If that doesn't work, try MikG.
did a system/factory reset and re flashed the rom
my up time and awake time are the same after phone screen is off for a while
