Root [ROM] [R910] EXODUS 0.6 CWM or ADB script install

It's settled. Silvist? I refuse to download your rom now without Go launcher ex pre-installed and will issue an interwebs citation to you + a warrant for the arrest of your likeness on the onlines should you refuse to comply!
Drastic? I don't think so. I'm just making sure it's included.

But yeah, seriously, I have it even on basix, over launcher pro. Go launcher ex is just so much more customizable. And those that like the stock launcher so much? They can even theme go launcher to look like touchwiz!!!

Install basix. There's an exodus theme out for basix. Use that to get exodus' look on your basix rom.
Remember that exodus is based on an early build of basix! ;)

Dont know where you got this little jewel of info but no Exodus is not based on an early version of basix. k thx

Silvist got my meaning earlier. I meant exodus/exodus old + kernel shared with basix! Otherwise, exodus would only be a "theme", not also a rom ;)

Since we will soon to be going full blown with 1.0 I have just registered #exodus on fossnet.

http://webchat.fossnet.info/?channels=exodus for the browser connect and #exodus on irc.fossnet.info for those of you with clients.

We need some people in the know to help with support so if you think you might know enough to help out by all means hop in! People we see who help will get +v status those who are just there to chat theres other channels for that this channel is to give people who use exodus a place to find help with issues reguarding exodus. For suggestions please just post here but for genuine help we will try to be available as much as possible to ya.

1 .- I root with [Root] [R910/R915] One Click Root for Samsung Galaxy Indulge
2 .- i install exodus rom 0.6 , and all good.
3 .- change to baxis ROM 1.0, but first I root with ROOT AND ALL IN ONE CWM.
4 .- all good i am root
5 .- but back to exodus CWM 0.6, and I'm not root, so I went back to install the ROOT AND ALL IN ONE CWM with administrator privileges, and installed, but when you turn on my phone, I still whitout root.
6.- and i back to baxis rom 1.0 and i am root

sorry but speaks little English, my language is Spanish

what happens is that I can not root with CWM exodus rom, before I had installed the rom baxis with ROOT AND ALL IN ONE CWM.

Well the problem is your flashing between basix, which is rooted in the kernel, verses Exodus, which is currently rooted the scripted way. I had this problem switching between the two, and until my next release of 1.0, it won't be so easy to go back and forth. Typically to have a fresh install of either ROM esp basix because it uses a custom kernel, you have to odin wipe it. Plus if your restoring any of your apps, that can also mess up either rom. Myback up root is good, but if you backup the superuser, or some of the system it can mess with either, and more specifically Exodus.

This is why I worked long and hard with alot of help from k0 to root the phone just like the script, verse his which is the typical standard way of rooting (this was prior to the release of his rom, and I wanted him to get full credit for the custom kernel he worked hard on). Yes if your saying you get that glitch at start up, that's because your switching between the two. You can try just a factory reset in the CWM, and flash one or the other. But no matter what, you kernel will be basix if you go between them, because basix uses custom kernel. If I'm not making sense to you, back up your contacts/important stuff, then you need to use this:

http://androidforums.com/indulge-all-things-root/335191-910-how-flash-using-odin-return-stock.html

Then don't root, just boot up and put it in debugging mode and use this after your back to stock:

http://androidforums.com/indulge-al...ne-root-clockworkmod-win-intel-mac-linux.html

Then when the phone reboots, go into CWM, aka from off hold PWR+R, then flash the rom you want. Another problem is, you DONT NEED TO ROOT YOUR PHONE prior to either installing Exodus or Basix. Because both roms are already rooted, I believe that is the source of your problems.

Extremely unlikely, trust me. ;) But if you get improper battery results on either one, it's either a calibration issue, or apps in the background - unless there are changes in this version of Exodus that I'm not familiar with.

Hmmmm.... WELL I am back to using exodus with my 17 hours of battery life (using ebay extended battery)

I dont know man, I calibrated it and had my phone setup the same exact way with basix and I got MUCH MUCH MUCH LESS, My reasons for a rom is better battery life anyway so I guess I found the rom for me.

Not to shoot down Basix... Exodus just works for me.

Np Chicomostoc, the start up sound is in /system/etc PowerOn.wav. Just make sure whatever you replace it with is named exactly that; PowerOn.wav. You can take any mp3 and just rename it to PowerOn.wav, doesn't matter if its wav format or not. If you want to mess with the shutdown sound or any other sound they are in /system/media/audio/ui. Shutdown.ogg is the shutdown sound ;p.

in / system / etc can not find the PowerOn.wav, is not found in / system / etc

but i did, i copy PowerOn.wav in system/etc... but does not play when I turn the phone

i give r/o permissions

wifi tether app is a no go ive tried the one that was posted earlier in the thread and that one worked with previous versions of exodus but it doesnt seem to work with this one

I use the 3.0-pre 12 version and it works great. This is one that ya choose Epic 4g for phone type..I think it's in the wifi thread here in the Indulge section.

Here's a silly idea. If you're using Exodus or Basix, the package blocking metropcs restriction should've been removed. How about then just downloading the app from the market and install it like any other app? does that not work?

That add on theme makes basix look like exodus. Why would you want to make exodus look like itself?
If you add water to a cup of water, I'd be hard pressed to say you've watered it down.

That really waznt wat i meant to say... but ive noticed that there 2 themes that are available for the basix rom... if you go back to the basix post and check the download section there should be one of the themes im waz talking about... nd there is a seperate post tha mentions an exodus theme for the basix rom. You might of not known that there waz another theme in the basix post... bt ive gone ahead nd and it worked... it looks like the stock rom with a custom battery widget incuding the exodus hardware mods...

Only Basix includes package blocking removal.

It's a pure-stock theme with a custom battery indicator.

My request is this. Is it possible to mod the volume keys to also change the track

Press volume up key - changes volume by 1 click
Hold volume up key - changes to next track
Press volume down key - changes volume by 1 click
Hold volume down key - brings track back/ plays previous track

I'm sure its possible, but I'm not really sure how to do that. That would require changing the key layout of the music apps. I'll look around though, and see if anyone else has done this.
