Root [ROM][RC][4.4.4] Dirty Unicorns 6/25/2015

The 2.8.3 is fine u need to make sure u do factory reset before flashing any ROM I also format data manually seems to help and I suggest u use a nano gapps pa ones are good there are others to just my opion

It random reboots and when it boots up the launcher reset with all the icons gone or looking like white blocks . What worries me even more are are all the force closes I get after the restart incidents . Then when I factory wipe it won't boot up properly so I have to reinstall the ROM and the process begins all over again . Happens to me with all ROMs that are not stock based . Maybe I'm doing something wrong . Just thought I'd ask if all the 4.4.4 and up ROMs have to be installed with recovery 2.8.6.0 . I'll keep trying . I'm not a quitter . Thanks for the reply .

I don't think anyone has had any issues like that before. Can you provide a log?

Thanks but I have done complete wipes , sometimes even double wiped . Cache , dalvik , intSD . data and system is wiped and still get hard crashes . I also tried both Gapps with the same issues . Another thing I've done is check the md5 when they're available . None of the Gapps posted have md5's posted but the ROMs do at PhenomX4's repository . I particularly like the black theme and the fact that these ROMs sound great with headphones contrary to all the stock versions so I hope I get it to work stable .

I'll try my best . The problem is when it freaks it doesn't let me execute most apps so extracting it is gonna be hard . Even system settings crashes on me . I'll figure it out eventually . Thanks again .

What launcher u using and what browser some browsers and launchers don't like kks ROMs try the lollipop ROMs see what happess
 
Not quite sure what's going on with my installs, maybe i'm just doing something wrong.

After installing DU & CM roms on my Virgin Mobile Awe. When going to Storage in the settings menu, i don't see the option from the old stock rom to choose the internal/sdcard for default saving of files and etc.

Also when using an app like appmgr 3. it tells me my internal and the sdcard are the same thing, and according to the Partition data menu in the storage menu, /sdcard and i believe /data are both 1.96gb big.

Did i do something wrong? i got TWRP 2.8.6 did a full advanced format, then installed DU & gapps, like the guides suggest.

Attached a screenshot though i imagine its not really worth much.

You did nothing wrong, that's just how this works. The "save to" menu is a ZTE customization of Android and won't be in any ROMs other than those based on stock. KitKat also makes a change to where the internal and external storage is located. The internal storage is in /sdcard and the external is in /external_sd
 
so is there no setting i can flip around to make it actually use my 16gb sd? or do i have to yell at my phone for only coming with a 2gb internal.
 
yea and after doing a little reasearch and saw that 4.4.4 pretty much eliminated the sdcard slot for all non-original apps for the phone, with onyl 2gb internal, isaid nah. went to that 4.1.2 L Awe 2.5, got my sdcard usage back.
