Root ROM RELEASE StormDroid 1.1

I maybe a noob on here but I have found this place very helpful on getting my Ally up to speed. I also put things out of warranty really quick but never thought of my phone till now. That said...

I have Titanium Backup and am backing up my phone. Now what do I do??? I get confused too easily...

It's not really force closing. Its a small bug which freezes the app until the download is complete. Just let it do its thing, and you will get a notification when it is done. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Titanium backup just backs up apps. What you want to do:

1) root your phone
2) Download the rom ZIP to your sd card
3) get a recovery installed
4) do a nandroid backup from recovery so you can flash back to stock if you have problems
5) Wipe data, cache, .android_secure, and davlik from recovery.
6) flash rom

If you havent flashed a rom before I would suggest you start with a more mature rom like velocity. There are better guides on how to install it and all of the bugs are worked out for the most part. I wouldnt jump to a brand new rom with no userbase if you have never installed one, no offense to the stormdroid crew, just some advice from someone fairly new to the custom rom scene to another newbie.
 
i cant send pic msg or receive them for some reason whenever i try to send one it just keeps sayin sending and never does and wen i receive one it just says downloading and never does i know its a rom issue because ive had velocity and frunisher and never had this problem thanks

Did you apply one of the themes over the ROM? The themes had the incorrect mms.apk in them but I think they have since been updated.
 
I'm having the same problem with mms and I haven't flashed anything. I'm running it just like the ROM installs.

Correction I did flash the su.zip from the thread but that's all.
 
yeah i did flash a theme over it the first day the rom was out so should i try to reflash the theme or the rom again



so i just reflashed the theme still didnt work cant receive or send pic msg
 
We are aware of the MMS problem. This error seems to be the most widely spread one for Ally ROMs. Please be patient with us while we work out a fix. :)
 
Love this rom! Thank you all.

One thing I noticed. ADW launcher works, sort of. I restored my settings from previous use but noticed that I don't get the 5 icons in the home screen dock. I can change the icons and the launcher works in every way but that.

Any ideas?

Is the 5 icon dock turned on in the settings?
