Has the rom been updated with the update script or is this still a 2 step process?
1. If you have not already done so, you must apply 2.2.1 Froyo officially using this guide before you can use this ROM
2. Perform a Nandroid backup!
3. Wipe all userdata (and cache+dalvik cache)
4. Install the ROM

I was wondering if the savoxis script update 14 has been included in the download or if both need to be installed. Not sure I understand this question.
Are you asking whether you need to follow the root guide before installing Velocity 1.0?
If so, the answer is yes.

Okay I wanted to get some clarification on this since i'm a no0b.
I just got my LG Ally off of Craigs List for $65
I upgraded to 2.2.1 through the phone. It has never been rooted. I rooted it using the superoneclick method. I have the superuser app. I've installed Titanium backup and busybox (don't know what that is). I've also installed ROM Manager and I just tapped 'Flash ClockworkMod Recovery. The yellow bar is moving.
Once that is finished am I okay to install Velocity 1.0 or is there something else that I need to do? I'm very new at this and as i've been browsing around as a guest for a while i've seen that this is one of the nicest and most helpful around. Thank you in advance for helping yet another no0b out and I will be sure to send a donation for all the hard work.
BTW Trident, i'm pretty sure I gave you your 2000th 'Thanks' this morning.![]()

I finished Flashing ClockworkMod and it said it was successful. After that i tapped 'Backup Current Rom' and after I entered a description it rebooted super fast and hung on the LG screen. I pulled the battery and it came back on fine. I went it to 'Manage and Restore Backups' and there is nothing in there. Should I assume that it didn't work then?
Again, sorry for the stupid no0b questions. We gotta learn sometime though right?
EDIT 1: Also I just tried to reboot into recovery (just to see what it looks like) and all it did was reboot, show the droid with the ! and the Droid for a couple seconds and then it rebooted. Is something wrong?
EDIT 2: Also (lmao) I cannot delete any sys apps from inside Titanium Backup. I tried but Amazon is still there after the reboot.
I was wondering if the savoxis script update 14 has been included in the download or if both need to be installed.
You HAVE to update with the guide posted in the all things root forum
http://androidforums.com/ally-all-things-root/263285-guide-froyo-2-2-1-root-users.html
have to have the custom recovery and rot to install the ROM. it seems real complicated but if you read it through and get help on the IRC ally channel it should work fine
So I should not have rooted my stock Ally 2.2.1 with the superoneclick method? I didn't do anything in that guide. I found that site, rooted my Ally, and came here for help on installing Velocity. Once Dots showed me via irc how to make my recovery stick I installed it without a problem. I've not had time to test it really yet but it installed fine. Do I have problems ahead of me becuase I used the superoneclick method?
