Root [ROM] rubiX Focused 0.3 by drod2169

Its happened to a few people, the fix for everyone was they did not mount the system before flashing the calender zip. You should see the little progress bar like when flashing a Rom. If you mounted the system and flashed both the brightness and calender at the same time only one flashes, I confirmed that this morning. Hope this helps.

To confirm what egut125 is saying..

First post edited with the calendar and brightness fix zips plus directions.

I applied the brightness fix and got stuck at the "M." anyone else seen this? i mounted system and installed only the brightness fix, not the calendar fix as well.

EDIT: factory reset seems to have fixed it...testing now with brightness and calendar fixes.

did you select "mount system?" before installation?

I haven't seen anyone else mention this (maybe I missed it) but I am missing messaging.apk after installing the ROM. Anyone else notice this? I tried to reinstall with an apk and reset permissions but it's not working.

Nevermind - I just found email app. it's a universal inbox, different but seems good.

i did make sure to mount system.

i think (not positive) that my problem was due to not re-installing Koush's bootstrap after wiping during the install process. it seems like if i don't have the bootstrap installed, then i can go into the moto bootloader, do a factory reset, and the phone will boot ONCE. the next time (if i don't go into the bootloader and wipe) it will get stuck at the M. this stopped when i re-installed the bootstrap, but it's possible i also did something else.

bricked my phone yesterday getting this (forgot to mount), but fixed it and reapplied it (with mount)
also added the calendar and brightness fix with no problem.
I'm not a fan of ADW Launcher so I stuck with my LauncherPro+

So how should I go about installing this? I'm running flyx with nextheme installed. Do I need to do anything special or just head into Rom manager?

Does anyone have the apk for QuickOffice? It is missing from this ROM and Titanium will not restore it.

I'll upload it for you and then post a link, just give me a few minutes.

Edit: HERE ya go, just copy to the sdcard, then move it to system/app, change the permissions and restart your phone.

Ah. Ok. You're ok, now, right? You have sbf?

If you want RubiX, I'd do a backup of what you have now. Here are the installation instructions from the site. Clearing cache, data, etc, gives you a fresh start. It's clean and faaast! You'll have to reinstall apps and back up your contacts on gmail, if they aren't already backed up.

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
Open DroidXBootstrapper
Bootstrap Recovery
Reboot Recovery
Nandroid Backup (Just in case you don't want to keep my rom or something goes wrong)
Mounts and Storage
Format System
Format Data
Format Cache
****Mount System**** VERY IMPORTANT, DO NOT FORGET THIS STEP OR YOU WILL BE BRICKED
Install Zip From SDCard
Select rubiX0.3Focused.zip
Select Yes
Reboot System

Thanks Steven. Are those instructions the same if I go through Rom manager?

Good question:

From Rom Mgr make sure you've selected "flash clockworkmod recovery"

And yes, when I tried it, it worked the same for me.

Well I downloaded on Rom manager and went to install and no options came up, other than wipe data cache and make backup of current Rom. I saw it load from script pretty fast (caught glimpses of the word rubix) then I was back to factory reset flyx lol any suggestions?

Try following the directions verbatim. Make sure you have flashed clockwork option one from the rom mgr. k?
