Root [ROM] Sleipnir v2.4.0.5 - 10/24/13 - VM & SPRINT

Anyone else's phone just randomly shutting off? Not even rebooting. Just shuts off and cant turn on with power button. Have to remove battery. May go back to v2.4.0.2 That was working fine for me.

Just a note to any users...if you have a PC or laptop download SDK and install the tools package so you can pull and save logcats. That way you can use DDMS to to pull logcats for the developers. "Its broken" or "it doesn't work" isn't very helpful. Along with your logcats post how you installed the rom, dirty flash, clean install, however you did it. What recovery you used, clock speed, how you restored data and apps etc. All this info is relative when trouble shooting. :)

More or less in the OP too (the second part), but yeah XD

In any case, a logcat would be helpful. What would be more "clean," or useful (much easier to narrow down what's going on), is to run the following in Terminal Emulator or, as aforementioned, the PC:
Code:
su
adb logcat *:E *:S -v long > username&todaysdate.txt

Though I suspect that a clean flash will solve most of the issues, or just verifying the MD5 or SHA1 checksums (since the ROM is working just fine for most of us), for the unique cases a logcat is extremely helpful.

NOTE: The logcat text file will be spit out in your root directory, where /data and /system are located.

Pardon me but is this rom dead??

New theme is still in the works, and ROM development is still far from done. I haven't been able to get a whole lot of work done this past month because of recent (and still on-going) family health and medical issues, and work, but this weekend again I should have plenty of time and, fingers crossed, there may be a new build coming Thursday night or sometime later this week. I'll be sure to get the files over to you ASAP, though.
:)

So I've used the Optimus Elite for the last few days, and I have had a single reboot. MUCH better than all of the previous builds I have tried out.

Moving onto an S2, giving the sister my Elite now. Do I have to unroot and go back to stock for her to activate it? Or can I leave the phone the way it is and just wipe all my files?

That's wonderful to hear! Do you happen to know what was going on when it rebooted?

As for activation, that should be fixed by now. I can run it and I don't get any crashes, so I'd say activation is bueno. If not, for whatever reason, then going back to stock will allow her to activate it.

Thanks for the feedback!

It was always a combination of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and or Charging at the same time. I know it's not much to go off of.

Overall, outstanding ROM.

Just wanted to give my thanks again for all the work that went into this Rom,...It remains the "least" troublesome of them all,...I love the CM9 don't get me wrong, but I Need my camera most of the time and this one (Sleipnir) gives the best of both worlds... So I flash back & forth between them at least 5 to 6 times a week & this Rom I know is issue free
THANKS..."Cereal Flasher"

I got my girlfriend this optimus elite and put sleipnir on it for her its constantly rebooting about 5 times a day now..

Says it needs to be activated or something now ( i dont really know because im back in texas and shes in new york) but when I was there it got activated and everything just fine but she cant send me texts other people she can text fine. Start activation now is what its saying. I guess a reboot will fix that (how ironic)

What can I do about the reboots?

Try different CPU settings.
If not a fresh install.
If that don't work start from scratchy again (Redownload, Fresh install).

Would you guys be interested in this flashable theme/mod?

I'm at work, but couldn't resist posting this:

Everyone, I just wanted to say thank you for bearing with me during this unfortunate and hectic paragraph of my life. All of the encouraging words and support both on the forums and in your private messages meant a lot, and I really appreciate it. I'm also glad that the ROM is in a stable and 99% functioning/complete state, but if something was seriously broke you can bet that despite everything, I'd be working on getting that corrected ASAP :p

Regardless, things are looking up and getting much better. The health issues with my loved ones, hospital trips, and work and taking care of them on my end, are on their tail end which means that all is going to be quite well very soon. In fact, I may even be able to get some serious dev work done tonight, and if all continues to go well and finally get sorted out for good, you can bet that I'll be kicking it back into high gear as soon as I can to get this finished - logo too!

Also, each new build is going to have a new scent.

This is a community ROM, through and through, accepting all of your input and suggestions and working as best it can with them. It started as a solo project by me, and became something much greater and a fusion of all of the contributions from this community, and the other ROM developers as well. This ROM exists because all of you want it to, and it was shaped by everyone's hands.

@starkraving, I really appreciate you having gone ahead and put up your theme for this Android-loving beastie up despite the theme still being in progress. I know it isn't the most ideal situation and I apologize, but I do appreciate it nonetheless. Thank you.

Lastly, to those of you who thought that development for Sleipnir was dead, I can assure you that it isn't, I just have had only fleeting opportunities to get anything done. Although Sleipnir is mostly complete, it is not yet finished and you can bet that I won't let this beast be put to sleep anytime soon!

Sincerely,
And never saying die,
-Artine

No worries. Best wishes for your family. The rom is working well with a clean install. None of the aforementioned issues here. Well done, looking forward to further working with this rom.

Hey all,

So I recently purchased an LG Optimus Elite for VM that i have rooted. Ive been using sleipnir for a good week or so now without any problems other than a bootloop that im pretty sure was caused by too many apps trying to run at startup - nothing a fresh install couldnt repair of course. The only problem was that whenever i tried to restore my nandroid backup after reinstalling, the problem would return. I could care less about the apps I lost but my problem is that i dont know how to access the cpu governor in case this problem comes back. It is my understanding that smartassv2 is installed in sleipnir effectively overclocking the cpu.

So my question is this:
Is there some sort of app i need to access smartassv2 or some kind of interface located within sleipnir that i can use to modify the cpu settings?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I look forward to your next release of Sleipnir.
