Ive been running slepnir for a while now and just noticed ive been having problems sending and receiving MMS text sms works fine everything else works fine but no mms any fix for this and or suggestions
I'm embarrassed to ask, but...
1. How do I know which Virgin Mobile ROM to download? Do I download it to the phone or desktop?
2. How do i verify the SHA1SUM?
3. Where do I download the Sleipnir ROM to? Desktop or phone?
Hi...if you have a good wifi connection download it to your PC and transfer to the root of your internal or external sdcard via mass storage. You can also download via your device but in my experience I've had less issues downloading to PC then transferring to the device. As far as the file verification there's several apps available on market for that task. Just when you flash the rom remember where you put it. Internal or external.
Who knows how to get it to stop rebooting :/
Try wiping cache/dalvik from recovery and fixing permissions. Did you restore data from recover or TB? If so maybe consider wiping data also. Then restore app only from TB.
is there a limit to how many apps u can have installed?? Thx
No but when I tried to restore my data from stock gb it started doing that too and when I just tried to restore my backups from super backup and rebooted it started rebooting endlessly I read some where that its from using to much ram is there a limit to how many apps u can have installed?? Thx
Anyone have any luck tethering a Kindle Fire HD with this ROM installed?
Yea I'd like to know this also, Since the Kindle Fire HD only allows connections to an infrastructer mode while i can only seem to get a adhoc from the elite from this rom, cm9 (and varients), and GsnapElite.Anyone have any luck tethering a Kindle Fire HD with this ROM installed?
Kan u upload rom to different link
won't download ???
I'm trying download Sleipnir_v2403VDeOdxd.zip
Has anyone posted a video of step 3 of the install? Starting with
Format /data once. This needs to be done or your phone will spontaneously combust. Alright, maybe your Optimus Elite won't catch fire, but it certainly is guaranteed to not work correctly if you're coming from a different ROM and you neglect to format /data prior to installation.
I'm confused. I did get sleipnir installed, but I want to do it right.
Thanks.
Still getting lots of random reboots and sometimes fail to receive SMS/MMS messages until I reboot the device.
I've followed the install directions to the T.
I've done an entire system format and fresh reinstall with a newly downloaded package from this thread. Problems still occur.
Just thought I'd let you know that these are still happening. I'll try to provide more information if you need.
If you're starting fresh, you cannot restore data or you'll have a bad time. What you can do is after everything is up and running properly, is - if you have a Titanium Backup backup copied onto your computer - the following:
Start over fresh. Use the unbricking method, to get the phone to the out of the box state. Run poot, and install CWM. In CWM, manually wipe/format /cache, /system, /data, /emmc, and /sdcard, after mounting each one first. Then mount USB storage. Drag and drop the ROM from your PC to the phone's external SD card. Follow the first-time installation instructions in the OP of Sleipnir, including verifying the MD5sum prior to actually flashing the ROM. Flash Sleipnir, and reboot normally.
From here, you need to be careful: go into System Settings -> Storage -> Format/Erase Internal SD Card, and Unmount External SD Card -> Format/Erase External SD card.
Now reconnect your phone to your PC, on Mass Storage mode, and re-add both the Sleipnir ROM (just in case), and your Titanium Backup backup onto your External SD card.
Tell Titanium Backup, after installing it through the Play Store, where the backups on your External SD card are loaded. Now go to the Play Store and manually install each app you have backups of, one by one, until you have all of your apps re-installed through the Play Store (not restored through Titanium Backup). Now go to Titanium Backup, and you should be able to restore the app data correctly and successfully. Just do not restore the apps, and make sure you restore only their data.
You should be bueno after this.
In short: you need to do a complete reset, because thanks to an app something isn't right with the internal/external SD cards, and will continue to give you hell unless you do a fresh start. You can get your app's data back, and contacts if you have them synced with Google or backed up on a .vcf file, but it needs to be done the long way. This phone is tentative, and can cause headaches, but there are ways to navigate its waters successfully
I wish you the best of luck!
Thank you for the report - this happens, and there's ways to fix it, and a lot of the time (based on feedback, first-hand experience with my girlfriend's OE, etc.), this stuff isn't ROM related at this time (there are still some bugs, but many were ironed out). Here we go!:
- SMS/MMS issues, if unrelated to the SMS/MMS app you're using (it's fairly unanimous that as a community we suggest anything other than what comes with the phone, for many reasons not the least of which is that it is heavily outdated ), then that's an issue with Virgin Mobile or Sprint because there is nada in the ROM that modifies anything related to SMS/MMS that Aeneas doesn't, and Aeneas works fine for SMS/MMS. I've had this same issue happen to me, and that was with the OE out of the box - it's an OE thing
- Otherwise, if you've followed the first time installation instructions to a T, then try any of the troubleshooting methods that were aforementioned in the thread (I really need to make a section for these in the OP ), that include but are not limited to:
- Lowering your maximum CPU frequency step by step until stable.
- Raising your minimum CPU frequency step by step until stable.
- After Sleipnir is installed, reboot back into CWM and wipe /cache, dalvik-cache, and battery stats.
- Or, if none of that works, then an app might have screwed with you and the following needs to be done (it happens, and from what I've seen even first-hand it's unrelated to the ROM, and might actually be related to Titanium Backup and how it interacts with this phone [and how picky this phone is, mostly]), then see this post:
