I was using BB .1 For some reason .4 was causing my apps to close all the time. Since my original post, I have to admit my battery life actually seems worse despite the longer charging time.

this rom is giving me the best battery life i've ever had.
after 12 hours of heavy usage I'm still at 50%
Market is working too.

no multitouch keyboard and of course it won't run the 2.1 one.
haven't noticed any real new features other than the fact that maps works and that the battery life is amazing.

im running the stock 800mhz kernel that came with it. I have switched away to a few frg01 roms and have flashed back to this one every time. the battery life is just too good.

same. the kernel it came with. dude, it's like 60-70% at the end of the day, which is crazy for the amount that i use it.

800mzh stock kernel that came with this rom.

There are some similar 800mhz ones out there that were stock from previous froyo builds, but the battery life isn't the same.
Everyone is in such a hurry to throw on a 1200mzh kernel. I think this is one might the solution to incredible battery life.

I had extremely heavy use today since 7am. It is now 7:42 pm and my battery is 60%
On any other rom it would have died at about 4 or 5 pm

Yes, you can do it through both (only in ROM manager if you're using it to change ROMs, it gives you the option to wipe when it downloads). In CW, on the main menu, there's an option to do a factory wipe and cache wipe. I recommend doing this before every ROM change and use Titanium backup or Chevys bkapps/rstapps scripts to restore data (this method has worked best for me).

on this note.. WHY is it important to "wipe" your data?

And when you say wipe, are you literally meaning all of your data - calendars, sms, apps, app settings, data, are literally gone and taken back to 0?

If so, does Titanium backup really TOTALLY restore it all exactly as it was? apps, app data, app settings, calendar data, sms, etc. etc.?

I've also got a question about this ROM: I flashed Cyanogenmod 6 onto my Droid this evening from a friend's recommendation, but a GOOD chunk of my apps didn't want to play nice with it, so I went back to rooted eclair. I'm really just looking for something that is stable, will work JUST LIKE Froyo (until there's a rooted version of the official Droid release), and allow some overclocking via SetCPU. I'm not currently interested in anything fancy or experimental in the least; judging by the title of this thread I may have found the ROM to fit my needs, but I'd like a "second opinon" before jumping in with both feet on this ROM. Anyone?

So, what's different between this thread's ROM, and the one your linking to? How far from stock is this "clean one"? Admittedly, the hint of better battery life is a bit alluring....
