Root [ROM] Stock B11 Deodexed & Unmodified

@$@#%@!!#$%, People like me need videos for this stuff.

To be honest, that's not a terrible idea. I will not be making the video, but if someone did make a video "setting up fastboot in windoze and installing cwm" would be a good one :)

If you need a video you probably shouldnt be flashing your phone to begin with. The guides explain everything you just need to follow the steps

and I followed the guide to a T like I said in my previous post I just give up because this obviously isnt for me. Thanks for the support though.

EDIT: and not to mention this is my first time trying any of this. So yeah a video would be extremely helpful for me because I can read the steps, but theres still many things left out that a beginner might need some help with.

There is a menu option in cwm recovery that lets you toggle signature verification on and off. I think that is your issue. Very simple fix.

After I checked/ installed that last zip u gave me yesterday it seemed to install flawlessly and thank you.. But for some reason most of my ROM had FC's and Root errors.. pretty much crashed, so I tried to restore my newly made backup and it kept giving me md5 mismatch and aborted. Tried installing other ROMs and they aborted "Error 7"... Didn't think about toggling signature! Lol.

For clarification, are you saying that everything was working great, you flashed the theme.zip i sent you, you rebooted and everything crashed?

I am onto something here! Got both zips in step 1 installed :) and rebooting now

and I would assume with the Superuser app I am rooted? correct me if im wrong here

No disrespect meant. But there are so many ways to brick your phone. The guides are meant for people that have atleast a basic understanding of how things work.

if you flashed the rom in step one of this thread you are already rooted, no need to do anything else. Superuser is already installed ;)

Sometimes I surprise myself ;) Thanks for all the help Super, GREATLY appreciated! it only took me like 24 hours too hahaha

For clarification, are you saying that everything was working great, you flashed the theme.zip i sent you, you rebooted and everything crashed?

Clarification - 1. Made a current backup of what I'm running now (Tweaked stock/deodexed/rooted with the changes I had made in framework, system UI, MMS, Phone, Contacts, settings & provider, play store 1 by 1 while phone was running. As a simple reboot after each changeout made the changes take effect). 2. Then I wiped EVERYTHING that's customary for ROM flashing cuz I reinstalled stock/deodexed over mine, then the theme zip to make sure of the differences before/after. I really don't know if the new theme zip had anything to do with it or my SD got too hot and started crapping again.. but yes, for some reason I lost rooting capabilities and had a horrible time getting anything to work right. In fact, I had to mount USB in cwm and copy/format the SD to get stuff right again. I'm gonna try your zip again after I get another one to narrow down the issue. But I still wanted to say thank you for writing the script, it was awesome!:D

When redoing my rom with version 2 of this i noticed i had to reflash root.zip also. Tho i thought it had been something i had done to it

To my knowledge, the deodexed rom should be working with root out of the box. I hope some others confirm this. I don't use this rom personally, but i did test it before posting.

@teKnoh since you just flashed it, can you confirm whether you actually have root? You may need to install an app that requires root, or a root checker app to verify. Thanks

Indeed not saying its broke, as its very possible it was something i did while messing around in it. But since someone else noticed it also i thought i should mention it atleast :)

I am also not saying it's broken lol. I hope someone chimes in to verify so we know...if it needs fixing, I will fix it ;)

edit: 36 people have downloaded it so someone should know if it has root lol

when i did this a minute ago it didnt seem i had root, but i did the su update in the settings and it said it was installed but i did it anyway and it worked fine

what do you mean it didn't seem you had root? What failed to make you go into superuser settings and update su? Additionally, if you weren't rooted you couldn't have updated a su binary stored in /system.

i mean the permission box wouldnt come up, after i updated su it came up

So i just flashed version 2 of your stock rom to make sure and root is indeed intact. I had messed up a perm setting in my updater-script that borked it. All fixed now

Maybe replacing stock camera screwed that up for me... Thanks!

Edit: Yep. That was it. Works fine for stock camera

K, it was in the process of doing the backup, went all the way to the end and said the sd card backup (something like that) failed. So, I tried installing the first part anyway and this pops up
Finding update package
Opening update package
E: Can't open /sdcard/system_Prep_JB_warp2.zip (bad)
Installation aborted.

You must have a bad download. Try again using a different browser.
