Root ROM suggestions???

I've been using my incredible to jailbreak my ps3. With the new advances with ps3 firmware, I no longer need to keep this Rom on my phone.

I like the way the phone works stock, but I would like some of the bloatware removed, better battery life and faster performance if possible. I use the phone mostly for browsing and media playback.

Any suggestions?? This is my project for the night.

i have been using incredibly re-engineered. it is an evo Rom. it is by far the fastest and best rom to date in my opinion. it comes with the sprint 3g mobile hotspot app and it works better than wireless tether...

+1 for CM7. Really stable and fast and the screen on/off animations are awesome. Go with #7 - best one yet (idk about 9, it had a high error count and i've heard some not-so-great things). It'll feed your addiction as there's a new build every night. you just gotta decide whether or not to flash. After you do the first one, they're just flashovers which is nice.

My laptop is giving me a hard time, can i do the whole thing from the phone??

I haven't messed with my phone at all since september and a bit rusty on flashing a Rom...

Every ROM does something different, and every ROM has things missing or not working right. The great thing about flashing ROMs is you can flash as many as you want and choose afterward. If you like sense I would def go with Skyraider3.5 with the Lou #8 kernel.
Everything works, ton of customizable stuff, EXCELLENT BATT LIFE, I go thru a whole day with heavy use and been going to sleep with around 70% left!! I have never seen anything like this ( I am using the EVO/INC 1800mah). Use ROM manager from market and you dont need a pc.

I've been using CM7 for about 3 weeks now, and can honestly say its the best rom I've ever used.

Ok, I installed the #7 Rom from the xda link above. The phone gets stuck on the blue droid skateboard loading screen. I pulled the battery after about half hour. Now when I try the ROM i was using it freezes on the white htc incredible start screen.

I thought I had a backup because I recently but apparently its gone. Im now stuck with out a phone lol any help ??

Can you get into recovery from the bootloader? (to access bootloader pull battey, replace battery, hold volume down while pressing the power button)

If so, load a Rom from the SD card once you're in. Wipe data/cache/dalvik directly prior to loading.

Also a side note, depending on what kind of media playback you're looking for, I haven't had luck with CM7 in that regard. Mpeg and .wmv are a no go for me.

This. :D

I've tried tons of different ROMs and this is best one I have ever run. Plus, it's updated EVERY night (not that you need to flash a new version every night). I usually flash every other one.

Has anyone tried the Gingerbread ROM? I am trying to decide between that and the Super Z ROM. Any suggestions?
