That's my take exactly. Fine if you want to post your roms somewhere else, but the drama comes in when others are "forbidden" from mirrors in other forums. And yes, that's why I always come back here too. It's called sanity.

I'm on A05 now and have Burn d/l to my phone. I'm just wondering if I can do a flashover. Heck, I'll do a nandroid and try a flashover. If not, I'll wait for the full release and wipe 'er then........
which brings us to aosp roms:
-A05PTH3ORY- 2.3.5 compiled from cm7 source(not kanged from cm7) with DroidTh3ory's tweaks and mods.
-BURNTTH3ORY- ?? im sure its more than a new kernel. could be themed? i dunno. i think ill wait to hear how its different from ao5pth3ory before i flash. or maybe not. ok downloading test rom now

only differences immediately apparent are a goofy battery icon,and a super sexy transparent notification pulldown 
it runs awsome. same fluidity and smoothness as AO5PTH3ORY. cant wait to see what the other 30% of the new UI is gonna be,and read a description of what different.
worm,you shoulda flashed this one instead of AO5P. if it works for bj flash this over what youve got.

in his defense,the leak has only been out a couple days,and CLEANTH3ORY is at a very early stage of developement(dammit ima have to run it now,too-its prolly the equivalent of the original Th3oryOfGinger but new base).
check it out again after hes added some mods. mono prolly is better at this point,as its a blend of 2 other well deveopled,blinged out roms.

might want to hang tight for the burnt release... this preview is runing great,but the release will have a "special" kernel,and more visual differences. AO5P is more vanilla-ish like cm7. so is this preview of burnt,but maybe that will be a lil different?
the silly circle with the % in the middle in the notification bar. its not terrible,but its not one of my favorites,either.

Dammit...I was going to wait for the official post of burn.
This is getting insane. I no longer have any idea if a ROM has good battery life because I never even let them run through a full cycle before I flash something else.
DT is absolutely my favorite dev. I always go back to A05P. It just runs. I like the way he rolls...he tries different kernels, he experiments with swap, he tries new stuff, he works with good theme guys, and the icing on the cake is that he is just a kewl dewd. You can just tell he gets a kick out of doing this.

I think that is his current standard battery. Nothing he kitchen can't fix. I do a monochrome with green and cyan highlights, so the standard castaway looks pretty good on my setup.
By the way scotty, all of the cl3ar themes in the candy store thing have a transparent pulldown.

Oh that. Funny, I like it but that's the beauty of choice. I actually used that mod on the AO5P so I thought for a second the flash didn't go well. Nonetheless, go to the app AO5PStor3 in the tray and chose your icon with the Rom Mods menu. All the kitchen stuff has been already done for you, just pick the one you like.

I will say I reallly like rootzwiki more than xda....but Phandroid tops them all. I can talk about xda and roots over here and not be slandered or moderated! Epicness for the win?
On topic: I am LOVING theory's AOSP rom. So slick, so fast and now that I get a cigar to smoke while playing on it, it's that much better!

lol i agree 100% with all that. thanks for the tips on the candy store,i havent really messed with it.
i know i can fix the battery icon,i was just pointing out the only couple things i saw that were immediately visually different.
i prolly wont fix it,cause like you i dont stay on one rom long enuff for it to really bother me 
if anyone had an eris,DT reminds me alot of CS(condemned soul)... super cool dude and his roms just work

Just gotta chime in here and say that pur3 is still my favorite aosp rom on the thunderbolt so far. I don't know why anyone lets drama on a forum effect their rom choice. Find one you like and use it. This is why I stay away from xda at all costs unless I have a very technical issue that cannot be solved anywhere else. I was an avid UltimateDroid user [flame suit = on] for as long as blackdroid was around, and nothing will ever be worse than the drama he caused. However, his roms were awesome, so I used them. It's not like choosing a rom requires you to spend an evening with the dev. Who cares if you like them as a person? Innovative features, blazing speed, great stability, and frequent updates mean that I would probably use your rom even if you kicked puppies for fun.

I came to the droid party late (Sept '10) so I actually missed about 90% of the drama. I just know that I got flamed constantly for running UD on other forums even though I loved his work. Is it ironic that I always ran chevy's kernels with blackdroid's roms?

They just all claimed to be the first out with things and credit may not have been giving where it was due. I think he took out the warez before you were around. Not ironic at all Chevy's kernels on the of Droid were (maybe still are) the best there was out there

Well, I am really new...had a corporate blackberry for years and was a first gen iPod touch owner, so this is all new to me. There was tons of crap surrounding who got credit for the early jailbreaks. It is all so stupid. I love the hell out of the devs, but I think they are kind of dumb to give away a marketable talent for free. (I have a hard time with the whole open source thing--I am not against it or anything, I just can't understand why anyone would work so hard without compensation). In my mind, they should be fighting over money instead of credit, but what do I know.

My only problem with liquid is I drop signal randomly. It only lasts for a few seconds but its enough to cancel any current downloads.
