those are for the exploit on teh admire... that whole section of code wont work here
and there is a reason why its failing for some, and passing for others...........

Yes I went through that update and I found out that it only takes root permission away so I rerooted when it was done. Everything was fine, no update. Its good to c im not the only one with.this problem

Well it's basically what shab said. I erased some of the code that was for the admire (which sent me into a loop when it was there) and it worked for me. Get notepad ++ check the code and.see if.there is anything left for the admire an get rid of.it. should work. I'm drunk so excuse the pincushions lol.

no really, you dont have an exploit for this phone.. ergo pushing via adb is gunna cause a lot of permissions denied

Most likely yes. I had the same issue before I got it the same. Word of advice, no android is made same. Hence, all admires couldn't run the.900mhz kernel that req made. Its some of the coding in that script that's saying f*** your phone basically. Lol.

The code will need editing. Once again like shab said, its an old exploit and it got patched a while ago. Lets just call this a test rom for the moment and see how many ppl it works for and doesn't work for

This is what I did. (Cause I got sent into a bootloop before I erased that code in the script) flashed pre -rooted tar, got the FOTA, flashed the rom. Had no root privileges, re-flashed the tar then re-flashed the rom/theme. Kinda drawn out but worked

adb is running as a user for you guys, when you do stuff to run as root you need to type su to gain those privileges. since you cant do that in a script you need to force #. usually with an exploit (thus the "rooting" part) or by disabling ro.secure which will make adbd run as root. which means your adb remount command will work finally.
since you took a script and just started running it without understanding what was going on you didnt understand what i was telling you about the exploit. only reason im coming out with the info now is cuz i feel bad for everyone here trying to use this.
adb roms arent nearly as good as full roms but can be done in a way that makes em really nice. a prime example of that would be shabbymod, i made 9 versions of t hat rom before the prevail took off development wise (the sad thing is all 6-8 roms were based off mine)

Lol. Hell, I based 3 roms off mystery's second beast. He gave me some great tips on packing up a tar ball on windows. I'm most like gonna start in the next few weeks. This damn phone has to come the hell off the ground

Aren't all roms based of a previous dev's work?
I can understand it being a sad thing when somebody uses an online kitchen to re-theme a rom and claim it as their own, but it should be a slight honor that "6-8" roms were based off of your work, not a sad thing.

Maybe he means sad because out of 9 ROMs only 1 or 2 at most were actually original. Idk lol just guessing.

sorta, the samsung prevail guys loved me, and praised me a whole lot more than i deserve.. some of them are tsill on my rom (2.2.2) while there is a very stable cm7, alpha cm9, and official update (and many roms based off it) to 2.3.4.
i guess its more odd that so many people would choose to stay on froyo just to use my rom :O

Hell, stability is key. That's all I look for. That's why I left the admire. All the cm7 based roms just weren't stable enough. I always wondered though. If a phone came preloaded with gb could some build an older is for it?
