Root ROM through Bootloader?

Maybe a dumb question.....can I flash a ROM through the bootloader by renaming the ROM PG05IMG.zip?

I ask because something is not getting along with my CWR. I'm in a bootloop but I can get to CWR, but when I try to restore a backup or flash a new ROM, when it gets a little way in the phone reboots.

Suggestions?

No,renaming a rom pg05img will not work.... the image files are not the correct type. I would check the md5 of your rom Download. If its good,try a different rom. If there is a prollem with cwm recovery,you can reflash cwm in hboot with a file from xda. I can't link it ATM,search this forum for "hboot flashable recovery"

Tried all that. I have tried a couple different ROM's and even reflashed CWR. Still nothing.

Might try team wins recovery. Find them on rootzwiki

Actually... if you boot to cmw and do nothing... will it reboot? Basically,is hboot he only screen you can stay on without continuous bootloops?

Sounds to me like an issue with CWM. I would try installing TWRP through hboot and then trying to flash your ROM
