Root [ROM] Thunder Rom v1.1 UPDATED!!! 9:30 PM EST

so I just got a call and I don't know if this is intentional or not but when the phones ringing, the touch keys flash intermittently. like on, off, on, off. u know bout that?

lol it does that on stock rom too... :D i think its pretty cool

oh and expect Thunder Rom v1.2 tomorrow sometime! with added tweaks and other cool stuff! :p

More screenshots if you want.... just ask if you want to see something specific :p

"More" screenshots? I don't see any lol. It'd be great to get some screenshots, I don't like doing Nandroid backups without knowing what to expect, they take too long =P. I'll probably give this a go though, since it's gingerbread based.

sorry the new version will be postponed... my house lost powr and some of my rom files got corrupted. i will rebuild asap and post v1.2 up.

@froyoshark- sorry bout you not seeing the screenshots... i use mediafire to host my images. im switching to photobucket tonight. and this is froyo based by the way :D

Ok I’m an Android noob with a dumb question. What is deodexed and how is this done. I am a hardware / software tester by profession and am inching at flashing a rom and testing it out but just hit a roadblock with the deodexed thing. Anyhow this rom looks nice so any help would be greatly appreciated.

well if your on cm7 flash back to froyo, make sure your deodexed, and dont clear anything before flash (the rom clears what needs to be cleared!) then it should work... if not let me know, and someone else please tell me if you have problems also! :D

Ziggy,

How do we make sure we are deodexed? I am eager to try this out!

**Also, what quadrant scores are you getting?**

are you supposed to download with your phone or computer and then drag-drop it. I try with my phone and it has the typing test to make sure im not a bot, when i try to bring up the keyboard it disappears and i cant type to get it downloaded in the first place:confused:

yep this is for 2.2, and about going to school to learn to do this... the answer is no :p im actually 15 and learned from b_randon14. the school thing would be a big help though.

also, a good place to start would be to use a premade rom (like mine) and start by adding a new theme to it.... then once you get good at it, try to add more stuff to it. (tweaks, mods, etc)

Man, if there'd only been smartphones when I was 15! Sigh... Maybe I wouldn't have blown up so many model airplanes. :)

I rooted my phone with Gingerbreak, got Superuser and Busybox, and tried to install this using Clockwork Mod (and ROM Manager), and it all installs fine with no error, but when I boot it up, it plays the Droid animation for a little while, then reboots in a loop. Any ideas?

Pull battery, boot to recovery and reflash? That's the only idea I've got.

Tell us what you did? You put a custom recovery on your phone, right? And then flashed this ROM?

I did just as I said; I rooted it with Gingerbreak, installed Clockwork Mod's Recovery tool and ROM manager, then used the ROM manager to install the ROM. It says it installed successfully, but it restarts after loading through the red droid animation. (And yes, I just used the Recovery tool to flash back to my backup, and I tried it again, same result)

I've never used ROM Manager, but I've heard bad things about it. I have never had any problems flashing a ROM from CWM recovery. You should probably try that.

Wipe data
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik
Flash ROM from SD card

Well, let's go over the process.
I'm going to presume you have a custom recovery.

Before you flash you should do a nandroid backup, it's under backup and restore on the Clockwork Recoveries (CWR or CWM for the rest of this mini TUT)
After that you should do a factory reset, still in CWR. That will remove everything. Old app data is well known to mess things up when moving between ROMs.

Then you should flash the ROM. It should be in a .zip format. Don't unzip it.

When you are done with that you should have no problems. If you do, redownload the file and try again.

Holla if you have any more issues
