Root Rom tool box pro

Lurker
I'm a NOOB and I would appreciate any advice anyone might have to the following question: I have just successfully rooted my Evo 4g. I purchased and installed MYBackup Pro prior to unlocking and rooting my phone. I subsequently purchased and installed Titanium Backup after I rooted the phone. In addition to those apps I just installed ROM Toolbox Pro. Can anyone tell me if I need all three apps and what are the merits of one vs. the other? From what I can understand Titanium Backup is primarily used for managing apps and backing up files and data. ROM Toolbox Pro is primarily used for flashing custom ROMS, boot animations (what are those?) and things like setting the speed of your phone. It seems to me that all three apps perform similar functions. Am I on the right track?

Havent used MyBackup Pro but I do believe its pretty much a wannabe of Titanium Backup. Rom Tool Box is supposed to be an All in One which personally I dislike Not the ROM tool box but the all in one concept. I find that most generally lack in one area while really being great in another. JMHO. You purchased both mybackup and titanium so its really going to be up to you but 99.9% of us in here will recommend Titanium as its the Boss. Here is a decent Guide for learning Tb. I would never use a third party program to install ROMS with use recovery its better and just plain worth learning. Boot animations is the "animated" boot up screen before your ROM loads

Titanium backup is about the only app you listed there that you need. It will backup and restore your important apps and their data.

ROM toolbox has its uses, but to me its more of a download when you need it and uninstall when done type of app.

MBP is just about the same thing as titanium, with less features.

titanium backup is the one read the tuttorial also round out with root explorer my backup and rom manager are not needed. root explorer allows you manage files on phone and sd card. i hope this helps you

I use my back up (lite) for call logs only. Also, unless some thing has changed with TB, you'll want something to backup and restore SMS. I use 'SMS back-up restore' which is free in the market
+1 for esfile explorer
