Now that I'm rooted is it possible I can change my boot animation through ROM toolbox? Are there any side effects? Downsides? Negatives?

Nope, I just did it. Remember to find a boot animation with the resolution 320x480(mdpi).
Also removed shutdown animation.

Get root explorer, navigate to /system/media. Bootanimation.zip and shutdown animation.zip are there. Just delete or replace.

yea I actually use ROM toolbox for everything

our device is not supported for that..feel free to try it out, but you'll probably brick your device, but you can always re-flash the firmware and fix it...

try all the different options...and if one of them works you can e-mail jrummy and tell him it works on our phone as well, then he will most likely add it to the list on his next update

It's a lot safer to change anything like that manually via Root Explorer.

Always a pretty decent potential for a brick changing boot ani down ani fonts or anything like that in an app.

I've been using rom toolbox pro since i was still with T-Mobile rocking out the Motorola cliq. Rom toolbox is the jack-of-all-trades of rooted phones and its not any less safer than root explorer (if you actually pay attention to detail), I've bricked my phone with an oversized boot animation. Other than that any bricks I've had we're due to testing the highs and lows of the motion.

Take your time with any app you use, I've bought all of jrummys toolbox apps including some standalones and i can tell you that jrummy apps have the largest stream of updates and bug fixes of any app I've seen so far. The latest updates have even made the functions far simplified for the new root user with just enough depth to give a veteran user all the function (s)he needs.

I'll second that, Fictioneer - I'd love to see some sort of user manual or guide.

I've figured my way around ROM Toolbox Root Pro, but The kernel settings and other tweaks like memory manager have me stumped.

Additionally, I'm curious if I can delete the factory "backup" from my phone in favor of backing everything up with ROM Toolbox...

Finally, I'd also like to see someone compile a list of ALL the folders in our phones and all the files, with an explanation of what can and cannot be deleted in order for the phone to maintain functionality. I've safely deleted a lot of shit so far, but I'm sure there's more crap in the system to ditch.
